Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Tiny Corn Shoots

It was a cloudy morning for my walk today,
55 degrees and a few minutes of a light misty rain.

You can just see the very first shoots of corn popping out of the ground.

Once again I didn't see anyone else out walking.
Just me and the birds.

Walked around both cemeteries and then over to the ball park,
back to the pond.  Went up and down the main street in town.

Peeked in the window of one of the twin houses again and this
time you can see the kitchen is done.
Looking in the front window.

This picture I took from the front door window.

Quite a few rhododendron are now blooming around town.

And this is the biggest one I've seen which I take a picture of every year.

I walked 5.2 miles

☁️    🥾    🌸

Up ahead on the right is the beginning of the road I live on.
The land was bought along here by Farmer Marvin
and posts are being put in along the road.
Pretty sure we will be seeing some cows and bulls here one day.

Another day of taking it easy.
Just a few chores
Reading
Knitting
Watching some Escape to the Country on YouTube.

A happy Saturday to you. 🤗
Thanks for stopping by.

BillyB - Yes we like watching the UK ETTC.  How cool that you were in one of the houses that was on the show!!

Ginny - Yes, sometimes ducks are on the pond, but mostly there are geese.  Have seen a heron there a few times too.

...I hope that you are feeling better. Corn looks about the same here. The rhododendron sure is happy!

What beautiful country photos, you sure have a lovely place to walk. The inside of this house looks really nice; they even have a nice big fridge installed already.

It’s good to see those crops emerging.

Sounds like you're doing well. I liked seeing the rows of tiny corn plants. Hard to believe it will be "knee high by the fourth of July" but I suppose it must grow quickly once it gets started.

I love that rhododendron! At our other house we had a large one; haven’t been able to have one happy here. I always love looking into houses that are being newly-built! Continuing to send wishes for good health to you and Ken!

I almost took a pic of corn the other day...just about that same stage from what I can see..sounds like you still are in recovery. I hope Ken is starting to feel better.

Your corn is just now coming up...here the sorghum (a lot like corn) is nearly ready to harvest.
pretty flowers. It would be a great life to live in the quiet country like you two!!

House lay out is sweet, but do not like the grey paint. -sigh- Why ever didn't they paint it white, and let the buyers visualize the color they want????????

Great that you know who bought the near by land, and know it will be kept farm-like.

Ken report????????

Gentle hugs,

Always nice to see fresh shoots growing in fields and your own garden. The person who lived in the house was the village black smith from our village, I used to work for him in the evenings and weekends when I was at school. He had another guy living with him and his wife who helped be get my fist job after leaving school. He had moved with them to the house on ETTC when they all retired. Unfortunately he got brain cancer so I went to see him at the house when I found out but I am afraid he did not have long left when I visited and was in a coma. The blacksmith moved back to out village and was next door to me where he lived his life out. I spent many happy times with them. RIP

Love the rhoddies! That light purple color is cool. We are seeing fields ready and getting ready for crops. Hope your Memorial Day is peaceful.
