Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

No Cookies

58 degrees and cloudy this morning.
There was only a 2% chance of rain and near the end of my
walk there was a misty shower.
Not enough to get me wet, just a little damp.

Walked 6 miles

A very random walk all over town.
Never made it around the cemetery at the top of the hill or down
to see the bulls.

Rebecca was out walking and another women walking her dog
who I've seen a couple of times.

Walked up this road and I'm on my way down in the picture.
Usually stay off this road because it is very curvy just behind me.

Walked behind the ball park and as you can see it is nice and green.

Quite a few skunk cabbages back there too.
They only stink when you rub them.

Found a couple of bird nests just sitting on the side of the road.

More rabbits around today and saw a gray cat bird.
Also the two fishermen are back at the pond this morning.

Tried to make a new kind of cookie with blueberries and white chocolate chips.
They were supposed to be balls filled with a cream cheese blueberry filling.
I just couldn't seem to get it right and ended up not making them.
The dough was much too crumbly to form into balls.
I was making them for our Pastor who loves blueberries and
it is his birthday tomorrow.
Tomorrow I'll make him blueberry muffins.
They will be easy.

Browned a couple of pork chops before putting them in the
slow cooker with BBQ sauce.
When they were falling apart I shredded them and we
had pulled pork on sub rolls for supper
along with the macaroni salad left over from the other day.

The sun didn't show itself till late afternoon
but I'm thankful for the time it was out. 😊
A happy day to you. πŸ€—

GrannyM - The collages are easy to make using my cell phone.  I just go to the pictures and tap edit.  In the list of things to do I tap 'create' collage' and then check the pictures I want to use.  Can use up to 6 pictures.  Once collage is made I can change the pictures around to different locations by holding and dragging. There are quite a few different arrangements you can use. Once I get the collage how I want it, just hit save and bingo there it is.  Very easy.  I bluetooth pictures from phone to computer.

...I always enjoy spring when the skunk cabbage and marsh marigolds are out.

We did not see the sun this day and may not tomorrow either. I just love the spring plants. Specially those in the woods and wet areas. And yards and flowerbeds...LOL

Hi Karen. That is so nice of you to make a special treat for your pastor. I use an app on my phone to make collages. I didn't realize you could make a collage from the edit feature. I have an iPhone 13 and will have to check that out! See you again tomorrow. :-)

I don't know if I have ever seen Skunk Cabbage. But now I will know what it looks like, I did not till now! Do you think maybe cats knocked the bird nests down?

Thanks for the info. I'll try doing that.
Too bad your cookies didn't turn out. IF they had they might have been tasty with cream cheese and blueberries. Yum.

I am sure you will end up getting the blueberry/cream cheese balls just right. The curvy road looks like a beautiful place to walk, but maybe not as safe as a long straight one.

So unfortunate about the cookies. It's so irritating when sometimes recipes do not work out. Happens to me often.

God bless.

Hello,
Pretty images from your walk. We are seeing lots of skunk cabbage here.
The blueberries muffin will be good, I'm sure your Pastor will love them.
Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend.

I'd prefer muffins to cookies! But...not my birthday. I'm not sure what my phone has on the edit button...never checked. Now, I'm gonna have to do that.

The cookies sound yummy if they had turned out. Hope your pastor has a great birthday. He's gonna love those blueberry 🫐 muffins.

Looks like you had a good walk. Very pretty there with things getting green. Next time to walk to the cemetery, take a picture. I love a good walk through a cemetery. Sorry your cookies didn't turn out, but the muffins sound good. We've had so much rain it's making it hard to get out and walk, so have been doing some walking classes through Silver Sneakers to get some steps in, plus trying to mow between the rain storms.

Hope this isn't a repeat question, but.....

You are out in nature a lot. Do you have to check for ticks, every night?

Too bad about those cookies. -sigh-

Gentle hugs,

Blueberries are in season here in Florida and I'm going to make muffins tomorrow too. (I make mine with almond flour and they turn out so good). I hope you have a nice weekend and happy Mother's day! Did you or your hubby ever get a chance to look at any of the train webcams?

Never heard of Skunk Cabbage, I presume it smells a bit. In answer to your question, yes my wife did write about Prunella, she is sat on a smart speaker in our kitchen and poses for pictures now and then.

I did not know that about skunk cabbage.
