Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cotton Candy Grapes

58 degrees and the morning started with a little
patchy fog around.

Walking around the cemetery on the top of the hill.

The lower cemetery.
To me, the gravestones look like a city in the distance
at the start of a new day.

By the time I had walked around the cemeteries,
the fog had gone and the sun was shining.

Looks like the geese are walking to church.

I continued walking over to the ball park and walked around there.
Saw 5 Goldfinch sitting in a row on the fence.
Would have made a nice picture but they all flew away.

Walked through town and down the other side of town.

Joy was out walking.
She has been walking a little later so it was nice to see her again.

All of a sudden the lilacs around town are all blooming.
My favorite is the dark purple.
Don't know if it is my imagination or not but it seems the
deeper the color, the more intense the smell is.

Walked 6 miles

☁️    🥾    🌤

After I got home from walking it got very windy and some big
black clouds rolled in and we got some heavy rain this morning.
Once again I made it home just in time.

Seemed like a good morning to make pancakes for breakfast.

I was kind of glad that it was raining so I would stay inside
and get some housework done!!

David and Liz were telling us about grapes that taste like cotton candy.
They say they are only available around here for a short while.
I had never heard of them before.
This afternoon they stopped by and gave us a bunch of the grapes.
They really do taste like cotton candy. 🍇

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy Monday to you. 🤗

Never heard of cotton candy grapes. I bet they were good. I wonder if they can make cotton candy wine out of them?

Your morning photos are beautiful. I agree, about how the headstones look like the buildings of a big city.

I think there is something to what you said about the darker the color the more intense fragrance. I've noticed that before as well. I like Lilacs. (Now say that 6 times real fast)

I have to get myself out walking again. I've got myself into a snuggly morning routine - This morning we sat on the patio. I get up at 6:15/6:30 every morning. I need to get up earlier to get some walking in. Your walking encourages me as well as convicting me. Thanks I need that! lol

Our kids do like those cotton candy grapes. I've tried to find them but Costco always runs out by the time I get there! Lilacs are amazing!

Your cemetery photos are really stunning. Something that will stick with me for quite awhile. The one with the fog is so atmospheric! The tombstones DO look like a city way in the distance. But maybe my favorite is the geese walking to church!

Yep. The gravestones do look like a city from a distance.
I'd love to find some of those grapes. They sounds delicious.
I'm glad you got back from your walk before the heavy rain.

I made my husband some pancakes for lunch today. He hasn't had a good appetite and this sounded good to him. I love seeing those geese! How funny!

I think both the first and second shot are just wonderful! I had not heard of the grapes that taste like cotton candy, either.

My purple lilacs bloomed fully today; the white ones are running behind. I'll be looking for the grapes because cotton candy sounds great to. me.

My favorite time to take pictures is in the early morning, with a light fog and sunshine. It's just beautiful!
I love your pictures of the cemetery and I see the city in it too!
The church is such a pretty old building.
I've had cotton candy grapes and they really do taste like cotton candy.

Those foggy scenes are so beautiful. I agree, the gravestones do look like a distant city.

I absolutely love lilacs. The scent is heavenly. I've tried to plant them several times but every single one I've planted has died.
I've never heard of cotton candy grapes. Sounds interesting.

Love the lilacs! And your "city-scape". But, grapes tasting like cotton candy? No!!! My stomach would say no.

Beautiful!
I love the photo of the geese and church, and I also love that old house in the background!!
Yep.. cotton candy grapes do taste like cotton candy, though they aren't my personal favorite, it's still fun to try new things.

Have a nice day.

The lilacs are so pretty and also the city of the dead in the fog drew up images in my mind.

The lilacs look so pretty. I wish I could test your theory by giving them a sniff.
I was behind a lady in HomeGoods the other day who was purchasing a container of cotton candy. I was recalling the taste while I waited in the long line. It has been years since I've had it as it seems like eating pure sugar. The grapes sound like a much healthier option. How interesting that they really taste like cotton candy. I'll be on the lookout for them.

Your early morning pictures are wonderful! Yes, I also see the city. The fragrance of sweet honeysuckle fills the air along the trails that Millie and I walk. What a wonderful time of the year it is.
