Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking in the Rain

It was a rainy walk for me starting out this year of 2022.
It rained the whole time I walked this morning.
The good thing was that it was a warm 50 degrees with no wind.
It was a steady rain but not heavy and it was nice
to hear the rain on my rain hood.
Like most times after a few miles of walking the rain drips
down my neck and the whole front of me gets wet.

Driving to town I saw 4 deer but didn't see one other
car till I got to town.
It was like a ghost town.

Walked around lots of puddles and wet places.

Today the bulls were in even more mud.
This was as close as I could get to them without walking in the mud.
You can see though that Farmer Marvin dumped a bunch
more straw around for them.

Walked all around town,
both cemeteries, and
the ball park.

No one at all about.

Walked 6 miles
🥾 My steps for the year 2021 - 5,915,267 which is about 2,957 miles. 🥾
That is NOT just my morning walking steps for the year
BUT steps for the whole day.

🌧    🙂   🌧

Didn't do much today.
Just nice being inside with it rainy and wet outside.
Did some reading and worked on the latest jigsaw puzzle.

🎊 Happy New Year to all. 🎊
Thanks for stopping by.

Some people feel the rain.
Others just get wet.

It rained here as well except I did not walk in it and it was a much colder rain. Puttering about the house sounds very pleasant. I did some of that, but also watched some movies. It was a pretty lazy day.

Still raining in your parts. I wonder when it will turn to snow. Sounds like a good day to puzzle. We didn't do much of anything today. We did go to the store to stock up on some food items since a lot of snow is predicted for this coming week starting tomorrow!

It has been a rainy day here too. I managed to get a good walk in just after lunch when there was a break in the rain. (And, Millie didn't get wet.) That's a lot of steps and a lot of miles. It is between 2,500 to 3.500 miles (depending on the route taken) from coast to coast in the U.S. so you could make the trip in a year's time. Wow! Congratulations on a fabulous record.

That is a LOT of steps! It sounds like a pleasant day to walk in the rain.

When I took Roger through the drive thru, it was like a ghost town here, too. Just so quiet!

Six million steps ??? That's a lot of walking. Why not use your Jeep?

Happy New Year. God bless.

We have enjoyed walking again since I had a couple days off and the weather is warm. Our temps have been in the 70’s. We have had some days a couple weeks ago where the temps were in the lower 30’s. The weather is so unpredictable here. Our coldest months are usually in Feb and March.
We bought a jig saw puzzle to put together.

I never minded walking in the rain as long as it is not a cold, driving rain. We are at the zero degree point this morning and getting colder. UGH- Inside treadmill for me. xo Diana

You got rain and we got snow! About six inches so far and it's still snowing, but slowing down. What an accomplishment with your walking... well done, my friend, well done! Happy New Year!
