Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Clearing out the snow

No town walk because of all the snow.
First thing this morning walked 2 1/2 miles in the basement.
Got the rest of my steps in outside shoveling snow and walking around.

It was still snowing and windy but we had to get outside and
get the driveways cleared of the snow.
We both went outside right after breakfast.
Ken on the tractor and me with my shovel.
Don't know what we would do without the tractor!!
Sure makes things a lot easier.
I like to shovel snow but when there is a lot and it's heavy
not so much.

I mainly just cleaned up around the edges of the driveway with the shovel
after Ken went through with the tractor.
I also did the porch, in front of the garage doors and the deck out back.
The places the tractor can't go.

I was out when Tonya our letter carrier came along.
She said the main roads are good, but the side roads not so good.

We were out all morning.

Looking up the driveway.

Walking up the lane.
Couldn't go very far because after the tire tracts from the tractor
ended the snow was too deep for my boots.

Walking down the lane.

🌨    🌨    ☁️

After lunch it stopped snowing and was just cloudy for the rest of the day.

During the afternoon I knitted, read, and worked on the puzzle.
It was nice to be outside in the snow but I sure do appreciate
a nice warm cozy house too.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your Tuesday was a happy one. 😊

That was a lot of snow! It's settled down here and hopefully no big storms for a while. Hope that's true for you guys too!

That looks like a LOT of snow! I would be happy and thankful to have the tractor, too.

You got a boatload of snow! More then we did by far. Heavy wet snow is a real challenge. You two did a great job. Yes, a nice, warm house is wonderful after being out in the snow and cold.

Wow you must have a BIG basement! Lol

We’re having one of our dryest January’s which is not good. We need rain and snow in our mountains for our water supply.

The snow looks pretty, I am sure the tractor is very handy!
We are expecting a warmer day today, maybe in the 40's.
Take care, have a happy day!

I don't think I ever heard anyone say they liked to shovel snow before. You could hire out around here!
It is pretty but I still don't like it---nor do I like winter for that matter. lol. Have a great day- xo Diana

I can’t imagine shoveling that much snow! I’m sure your Ken is enjoying his tractor time in the snow! We don’t even have a snow shovel; just a couple of old metal scoop shovels.

Wow, you do have a lot of snow. So glad you guys have a tractor to help you keep your driveway open. Yes, a cozy warm house is always a blessing. See you again soon!

I guess you got a good dumping of snow. Enjoy your day!

What beautiful show pictures. And I agree, the tractor is so necessary and so helpful. My helper here uses my neighbor's tractor when I need something done that only a tractor can do. I'm so lucky with a great neighbor.

Such lovely photos of the snow and the woods! It is nice to have the help of a tractor to do the hardest things! Stay warm!

Tractors are such a great piece of equipment for country living. Glad you have one to clear your driveway. With our son's 1 mile long driveway it is a valued piece of equipment. We just ordered a blade for the front of Dear's truck for snow removal. You had a good workout!
