Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Three Donkeys

45 degrees this morning, calm, and cloudy.
Took along my walking stick this morning because I walked the Farm Loop.
Just take my stick with me on country roads and in the woods.
In town I don't bother with it.

Just before I reached the first farm counted 5 deer run across the
the road in front of me.

It wasn't quite light out yet when I got to Farmer Bill's
farm where these three donkey's live.
Sorry for the low quality of the picture but wanted a picture of the donkeys.
They all came over to the fence when I got there.

A very peaceful and quiet walk around the loop and
didn't see any people or cars.

It is hard to see but can you spot the swing
hanging on the right side of the tree?

I cropped it here.

From the Jeep, around the loop and back to the Jeep is
4 1/2 miles.
When I got back I walked the other 1 1/2 miles around the
cemetery on the top of the hill
to give me my 6 mile total.

☁️    🙂    ☁️

Another warm day and mid morning the sun came out
for a little while.

Finished up reading my last book for the year,
Go Tell the Bees That I am Gone by Diana Gabaldon.
It is the 9th book in the series with one more book
to be written.

We never go anywhere for New Years Eve.
Just another day for us.

We are making home made pizza for supper.
The dough is in the bread machine now.

Thanks for stopping by.
🎊 Happy New Years Eve 🎊

What a wonderful thought it is
that some of the best days of our lives
haven't even happened yet.

Hi Karen. I love the pictures of the donkeys. That reminds me of a time in Arizona when some Donkeys got loose and were roaming our neighborhood. That was a memorable day. I hope that you and Ken have a very Happy New Year. Our big celebration is getting Chinese food (again) for dinner. See you again tomorrow. :-)

That is certainly always true of those who trust The Lord. It is a happy thought. I like the swing...I think you need one in your woods. I also like the idea that you are having homemade pizza tonight. Happy New Year!

Ahh...those donkeys are so cute! Love the swing! Our New Year's Eve is home alone with nothing planned. We took Christmas down today and packed it all away. Now I'm sitting with my feet up and a hot pad on my back! Happy New Year to you!

The cropped picture of the old tree and the swing is my favorite for the day. I kind of expected to see you sitting in that swing; surely would make for a good picture. My sister has lots of donkeys so I have come to love them too. Happy New Year, Karen!

Oh, yes, I saw the swing...I wished I was there to try it out. We had 3/sometimes 4 swings in a big old walnut tree when I was a kid. What fun we had.

I am thinking the donkeys might be very well treated if they come to see you...it sounds as if they expect a treat or some petting.

We don't do anything for New Year, either.

I hope you have a Happy New Year!

I am really disliking this not-Winter-weather!!!!!!!!!!

Same here, do not go out. Went out, our first year married. Never did so again!!!!! LOL

Chips, dips, grapes, cheeses, ginger ale in champagne glasses... Watch "The Thin Man' old movies. And that's it. :-)

Think I had rather see the three donkeys than people or cars. :) Guess I will always want a donkey. Happy New Year.

Those donkeys are cute. I see them around here with the cattle. Apparently they help to keep predators away.

Did you enjoy the latest Outlander book? I have it on my phone to listen to, but I decided before listening I would listen to the 2 books just before it to get back the story and the characters since it had been so long since I listened to that story. Her books are very long - and I like long books.
