Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Down and put away

Woke up to a rainy morning and walked 2 miles in the basement.
By 7:30 the rain had pretty much stopped so I drove to
town and walked other 4 miles in town.
It was 45 degrees, calm and just cloudy.

Most mornings you will see my red Jeep parked here at the pond.
The barn you can see in the distance is where the bulls live.

Walked around the cemetery on top of the hill, the ball park
and up and down the streets in town.

Saw the woman walking her dog again.  Today she was at the ball park.
She was the only person I saw.

Not much happening around town this morning.

Ken thanks you all for all the kind comments left about his
Train Layout.

Didn't make it to Saturday with the Christmas decorations.
I took everything down and got it all put away until next year.
So many needles came off the tree getting it out the door.
Luckily the tree was up not far from the door.
Now it is all back to normal.

Never did finish sewing the squares together on the baby blanket
yesterday so hope to finish that later.

That's all I did today.
Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. 🙂

We had quite a lot of rain today too, and it is quite warm for the time of year!

Our decorations will come down soon, but we shall enjoy them for another few days :)

All the best Jan

...it's interesting to see the archway trimmed in the hemlock hedge!

We had rain off and on all day, so I decided to leave our tree up another day. I took my umbrella but thankfully didn't have to use it. The cattle don't care for it at all. I have a small umbrella now that fits in a pocket so I can still carry my stick. I never know when I might need to whack something.

I like that arch in the hedge.

We had some rain today, but I did not pay much attention to it. I got to stay home most of the day. Yesterday there were huge puddles everywhere you looked.

Did you walk all the way to the pond to take a photo of your Jeep?

God bless.

Hello,
I like the view of the pond and barn. The arch and gate do look pretty.
Take care, enjoy your day!

Hoi,

I always love to read about your day. Here its is rainy. I have seen sunlight for 20 minutes this week. But I know the sun is shining behind the clouds :-)

I like that arch in the hedge too, like William said.
Have a nice day.

I'll probably take everything down on New Years Day. It's nice to get it done and put away!

The pond doesn't look frozen, it's probably happening later in the season if at all.

We just got home from a winter trip, but as soon as my bags are unpacked - the Christmas stuff will start coming down. I will leave the cards up for a while, but I am always ready for a fresh start. Have a great day. See you again soon!

I was going to wait until Monday to take everything down and away but now that we cancelled our event on Sunday I'll be putting Christmas decorations away tomorrow. I'm also going to put the puzzle back on the dining room table and enjoy finishing it. Hope these last days of 2021 are wonderful!
