44 degrees with a bit of a breeze, mostly sunny with a few clouds.
Walked straight through town and passed up the
industrial park and walked to the curve
in the road and turned around.
On the way back I turned into the industrial park and
walked around there and also up and down the road
between the main road and the industrial park road.
Saw lots of geese flying around.
Managed to get a picture of this bunch.
Yesterday I mentioned that Firefly was moving to a bigger
store down the road.
Here it is - will be opening soon.
Stopped to talk to our Friend Dave who was checking out his
big rig before he took off for work.
Ran out of miles before I could walk the cemeteries and ball park.
Didn't see anyone else out walking.
Walked 6 miles
Bench Number 11
This one is my favorite.

Just about to make scrambled eggs for breakfast when David
popped in from his walk around Happy Trails.
So he stayed and had breakfast with us.
Then it was time to get some house work done.
A couple of hours this afternoon was spent outside
walking around Happy Trails
and adding branches to the fence.
Before supper read a bit and knitted too.
Almost done with the hat on the second time around.
No mistakes this time. π

It Is The Veteran
It is the Veteran, not the Preacher,
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Veteran, not the reporter,
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Veteran, not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Veteran, not the campus organizer,
Who has given us the freedom to assemble.
It is the Veteran, not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Veteran, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the Veteran, who salutes the flag,
It is the Veteran, who serves under the flag,
And is buried by the flag,
So the protester can burn the flag.

...I love your cotton candy sky!
How nice to have your son stay for breakfast. That bench is very nice. The new store looks as if it will be very nice for them to set up shop.
Thank you for the tribute to our veterans. One lives at your house. πΊπΈ
I'm from a family of veterans too. All branches except for Coast Guard.
Love that bright red bench!
Great poem tribute. (Don't like the burning of the flag in protest tho)
That is my favorite bench, so far, too. But have really liked the others, too. I would love to see geese flying once again. I have not seen one single formation this year.
That is a great poem...
Beautiful views.
Great tribute to veterans. This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday in the UK.
God bless.
Thanks, Karen for this post. It is always fitting to thank our Veterans! Lovely poem of tribute. See you again tomorrow!
Great poem!
Love the red bench. Seen it in different finishes but not red. Many family members were Veterans in my family. Always look forward to a visit from my son. Looks like another great day, Karen. Thanks for sharing it♥
That is a very pretty bench!
Beautiful sky!
Catching up here. I really like that red bench especially the birds. That really is a nice space for that store. Have a good weekend.
This is my favourite bench too. I like the colour and the birds and leaves and vines.
Looks like you had good walking weather. Here it was ( and still is) raining.
Pretty bench...
Wonderful poem...
