Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A walk and a hike

59 degrees this morning and eventually when it was light, cloudy.
All the paving work trucks gone so I could park by the pond again.

Walked through town and around the industrial park.
Back in town I walked up to the park west.
Picture taken when I turned around.

Continued on to the ball park and walked around there which
is at park east.

Most days at the ball park I see three crows.
Sometimes they are on the fence, in the tree, or on the ground.
I think they are the same ones.
They used to fly away nosily when I walked past them.
I always talk to them because believe they recognize people.
Today was the first time they just stood there on the ground
when I walked by, even when I talked to them. 🙂

Joy was out walking and John too.

No miles left to walk the cemeteries.

🍁    🍂    🍁

By mid morning the sun was shining.

Got a good amount of cleaning done before lunch.
A stop at the library after lunch
and then I was free to walk around Happy Trails.
I took my walking stick and walked on the trails
for just over 2 miles.

I wear Keen shoes both for walking and hiking.
The low ones for walking
and high tops for hiking in the woods.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. 😀

In shadowy woods the brown nuts fall
As sweeps the wind through tree tops tall...
In golden bars through leafy doors
The sunshine falls on forest floors...

I always loved walking through the woods when you had to shuffle through the fallen leaves.

I would love walking in the woods again...I spent a lot of time in the woods in my younger years. There is just a peace being there. I like your photo. And love those fall decorations.

...is there a technical difference beyond walking and hiking?

When you turned around, the view is so pretty & tranquil looking. The stairway has a bit of mystery. We don't have crows this far south...love 'em.

I would look like Ronald McDonald in my hubby's shoes/boots.

That's a colorful carpet of leaves in the forest. So you walked or hiked8 miles? You're a marvel.

I like my Keens, too. You have nice trails to walk on. We saw some great walking sticks for sale on our road trip.

I love those Keen shoes and hiking boots. I have been wearing the walking shoes when I hike and they work just fine on the trails I have done. I love that cute Halloween display. Is that your old house in town in the background?

Hello,

The trail looks nice. I love the Autumn decorations, the scarecrows and pumpkins. I heard the crows are very smart birds. Take care, enjoy your day!

The soles are coming apart on my keens - time to break in a new pair. I guess I hike because I wear the higher tops. I have heard that Crows recognize faces, so they know you as a friend when you pass by.

We went for a drive in the country today and in one field there were so many crows!! I'm not sure if they migrate because we see them all winter but not that many in one bunch. For some reason I think they look scary even evil, if I dare say that. I wonder why.
