Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

An early morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.

House/Store For Sale

64 degrees and calm this morning when I walked.
Got to town at 6:30 and it wasn't totally dark but it wasn't light yet either.
So walked under the street lights at first.
Once the sun rose there was a mix of sun and clouds.

Had a nice walk all around town.
I was walking down the road when I heard someone say,
Good Morning, Karen.
Didn't see anyone at first and then saw Kermit coming out his door.
Margret was out walking and so was John.

About to walk around the cemeteries here.
The road to the right leads to the cemetery on top of the hill
and the left road goes to the other cemetery.

Walked 6 miles

This house with store was opened for about a year when we
first moved here.  Then it sat there for years.  All the stuff in the
store sat in there too.
They have been fixing it up the last couple of months and it is now
for sale including the store contents.
(Mostly collectables and some antiques)

Hope it sells and the new people open the store again.
This house/store has been here many, years.
You can see the original store HERE.
It looks pretty much same!!

Garden Shed Number 15
This shed in on the property that runs along the left side of the cemetery.

I would love to visit that store if it opens! I would just love to see the inside, and so glad you could share the old photo with us.

I have heard that Mexican Train is a fun game, but I haven't played it. That old store looks interesting and has quite a long history. I would love to go there and browse and see what interesting things are in it. I hope it sells soon, and that the store opens up again. See you again tomorrow.

I will have to Google the game, not heard of it. Antiques!?!! Love walking thru them just to see stuff, and shake my head in disbelief when I recognize something from my youth!! lol

I certainly enjoy walking with you each day Karen.

...having a business these days is hard and in a small town it’s really hard.

If the store should reopen for business, I would probably be one of the first to go inside for a look around. Your first picture reminds me of Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken." "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference."

For some reason, your link to the pic of the original house/store, will not work. Probably my old computer.

But I'd love to see it.

It appears that there were 2 houses. And at some time, they were attached in some way. ????????

Oh, how neat to see what that old house looked like long ago. Very much the same! I was trying to figure out if that tree in the old pic was the same as the tree in your pic, but I don't think it is. It looks closer to the house in the new pic. Probably wouldn't have lived that long anyway.

The bread and soup sound delicious! Getting to be time for hot soups and fresh bread. Made that chocolate cake again for I think the 5th time. Hubby wanted it for his birthday, which is today. Can't wait to eat it later! Never heard of the game Mexican Train. Will have to look it up. Take care, Karen!

Fresh bread and soup, yum! That's fun to hear someone call your name. Now I'm wondering what that F stands for on that shed.
