Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Putting down the plastic

A foggy start when walking this morning
and then a mix of sun and clouds.
65 degrees and very still.
Walked 6 miles

Had a lovely very random walk all over the place around town.
I took quite a few pictures of garden sheds while I was walking
and have a nice collection of them to post starting Monday.

A quiet morning around town and the only person I saw out
was Rebecca walking her cute little dog Leo.

Outside today working on the Island.
We finished with the chipper.
Then put down two rolls of plastic - still need one more roll.
Collected rocks and then lined the path with rocks.
Monday we will go get a load of gravel to put on the path.
The path comes from two different ways, meet and then
goes to a bird bath.

Afterwards it was nice to have a rest sitting on the porch,
cooling off with a diet Dr Pepper.

What felt really good was taking a shower!!
Sure thankful for running water!!

This evening I'll be reading, making squares,
and enjoying a dish of ice cream. 🍨

Thanks for stopping by.
Count your blessings and have a happy day. πŸ™‚

WOW! You and Ken have worked so hard on your new home and yard, dh and I know very well of all the work that goes in planning and making a place your special home and place!
It's been so hot and humid here that walking outside has been such a struggle to do, today the heat index was 102, I am so looking forward to cooler days! Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comment,
Blessings,
Sue

I'm enjoying watching the transformation of the "island". Can't wait to see it finished. I love taking a nice, peaceful rest after a day of chores and errands.

Hi Karen. That island is really taking shape. What a great addition to your property that will be. See you again tomorrow. Have a good Sunday. :-)

I really like the layout for your island. I look forward to seeing the finished project and also the garden sheds.
Enjoy that well-deserved ice cream.

It seems that you have had a lot of fog recently, but it does make beautiful pictures. The island is coming along nicely.

Diet Dr. Pepper? That's fun. It's my beverage of choice for a treat.

Your island almost looks as if it is surrounded by water with the shiny plastic.
