68 degrees this morning when I walked, cloudy and very still.
Nice when near the end of my walk there was a little breeze.
Walked 6 miles
Once again I had a very nice walk around town.
Saw the man walking his dog.
Margaret was walking and Lisa was running.
When I got back to the Jeep I saw Sheila's car
but never saw her.
Most days I see a man who works for the town driving his truck
around town and we always wave or sometimes when
he's stopped doing some work we have a little chat,
but I've never known his name.
Today when we were talking he told me his name is Paul.
Joe used to have his job but he retired.
I see Joe going to the Rolling Pin for breakfast most days.
I'm pretty sure this is a walnut tree.

I spent a good part of the day outside working on the Island
and made pretty good progress so took another picture.
Uncovered an iris and some purple liatris.
This picture was taken from the top of the driveway.
Also found some hens and chicks and put them over here by the rocks.
I went outside and worked from 10:00 to 3:00.
Took time out for lunch and a couple of drink breaks.
Before supper I did some more on the puzzle.
Will work on it some more later.
It is a challenge but fun.
Will post a picture of it tomorrow.
That's all I have for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. 🙂

Hi Karen. Your "island" is really taking shape. What a great project. What kind of little tree is that in the middle. It looks smaller than the other trees. I like the mailbox in today's picture. I like the little hanging pot of flowers.I have always thought that a mailbox says something about the people who live in the house the mailbox is for. Will look forward to a picture of your puzzle. I need to go get some laundry folded. See you again tomorrow.
...looks like a walnut to me. It's interesting what you can find if you weed an area carefully!
The trees and the rocks are a great start for your Island Garden. Now, it will be fun to see what else you add to it. That's a great picture you started your blog post with today. I just noticed you now have 227 followers. I remember that I was your 100th follower.
I am certain your 'island' will look lovely when done. You have such a wonderful place to live.
It's coming along so nicely!! The island is a perfect way to dress up your driveway!! That's quite a lot of hours working...you do good!!
Nope ... definitely not walnuts. These are melons who have climbed up a tree for a better view.
God bless.
Hello,
Love the sky photo and the mailbox image. Your island is looking good, I am sure it will be beautiful when done too. happy weekend to you!
So nice to learn names, and other bits of information. Kind of like doing a puzzle... Finding "pieces," and finding where "they fit."
Yes, your Island is really coming along!!!!! Aren't you glad you took pics, before this?????? -grin- Look at the progress.
And now, I can see, that this spot has already been surrounded with a stone border too! A true island...
Great work accomplished on your island!
I particularly like that first shot.
I think your island is taking shape nicely.
All the best Jan
I hope the hen and chicks thrive because they are plants that the deer probably won't eat.
I like your 'island'...
