Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Caught in the rain

69 degrees this morning when I left walking.
There was a bit of a breeze and at first just cloudy.

After walking a couple of miles those clouds let down a whole
LOT of rain and I got soaked!!

It actually felt nice and cool and I really didn't mind getting wet.
Lisa was out running in the rain and we laughed to see how wet we were!

It rained for about a half hour and then it started to clear.

So I had my usual 6 mile walk around town.

All in a nice neat Row

We had to drive down to Howard County again for another
doctors appointment.  This time Ken had an eye doctor appointment.
It wasn't until the afternoon so we left home at 11:00.
Trip there and the appointment went fine.
Only thing it was very warm there.
We went from 72 degrees here at home to 98 down there.
Left for home about 3:30 and we were in out of thunder storms
with heavy downpours for much of the drive.
Didn't get back home till 6:45.
We put a frozen pizza in the oven and its still there.
While waiting for the pizza to get done thought I'd write a quick post.
I'm starving and sure am looking forward to that pizza!!

Sure nice to be home once again!!!!

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. πŸ™‚

A few mentioned the tree in the picture from yesterday.
I didn't know that kind it was but in comments Tom
said it was a Mountain Ash.
I looked it up and he was right again.
Thanks Tom πŸ™‚

Still hot and humid here. I hate this kind of weather.

I would love to know what kind of frozen pizza you get that is so good. I always feel like frozen pizza isn't that good - but I am sure there are some good ones out there. We could use some more rain here - without the flooding this time. So glad your travels to Howard County and Ken's eye appointment went well. I love your good and positive attitude about EVERYTHING!!

It almost sounds like fun to walk in the rain.

We had pizza today, too. That looks like a proper downpour!

Your immediate area seems to be blessed with very moderate temperatures.

...at 8AM I started mowing my crabgrass and the rained hard and soon the sun was out and it was steamy. We could use an all day rain.

Hello,

Pretty shot of the corn field. We had a thunderstorm in the evening.
It is very hot and humid, I try to take my walks early in the morning. It is a little cooler. Pizza is my favorite. Take care, have a great day!

Getting caught in the Rain isn't much fun- normally the best thing is to get home for a quick hot shower and change into some new warm cloths so you do not catch a cold. Stay well and safe there Karen and Ken. Regards. KEV.

It can be a bit of jittery driving during those heavy downpours where you can't see the hood of the car. Glad your home safe. Pizza ALWAYS sounds good.

Glad all was well with the appointment.

LOL You are a good sport, to not mind getting wet, when walking.

Coming home from a big city! Lovely change of temps!

What a difference in temp between your town and where you went. It hardly seems possible. We are going back into the steamer for the next few days. I'll have on the AC for sure, but not quite yet. A good report on the eye exam is great news.

Always nice to have a good dr. visit. That is quite a difference in temperature. I'll take your temps any day.
You have a good attitude about getting soaked while walking :).

Sorry you got caught in the rain.
Pleased Ken's medical appointment went well.

Love the mailbox photograph, and yes, they are all in a nice neat row!

All the best Jan

We've had rain almost every day this week and instead of cooling us off it just makes things muggy and steamy... ugh!

To use a trite phrase - but oh so true - it was like an oven outside in Columbia. The humidity wasn't even the problem. It was just hot hot hot! Terrible weather.
