Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A dollar bill

53 degrees this morning and saw a little blue sky at first but
then it was just cloudy.

Walked around the cemeteries, ball park, and town.
Early this morning a couple of people already had their chairs
in place on the sidewalk for the parade later this morning.

The fire trucks are all washed and shiny waiting to be in the parade.

Joy was out walking again as well as Rebecca and another woman
I see running every so often.

As it got a little later I saw more people about town getting ready
for the parade and the rest of the festivities.
Some people outside mowing, edging and sprucing up their yards.
The parade is at 11:00 and then food is served at the firehouse.
There are various activities for the kids around town too.

Looked like rain but it never did and later in the day we had sunshine.

Walked 6 miles
Found a dollar bill.

We had to make another trip down to LaVale today to exchange
the water pump we bought earlier in the week.
Thankfully they had another one there so it wasn't a problem.

This afternoon I baked another 5 dozen Chocolate Chippers
for Bible time and put them in the freezer.
That's my 20 dozen cookies all done.
I'll probably make another batch next week because
it is amazing how fast they run out of cookies.

Got some reading done this afternoon and also knitted.
Put aside knitting wash/dish clothes and now I'm concentrating
on the white blanket I'm knitting.

Supper was easy - DiGiorno's pizza Supreme.

That's all for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Did you get to see any of the parade? Or were you in LaVale at the time?

Great job getting all those cookies finished up! I hope you were able to go to the parade, but I'm guessing you didn't since you didn't include parade photos. Either way I hope you are having a nice 4th of July weekend! :)

The parade looks fun - did you and Ken watch any of it? Josh wants to go see fireworks tonight, so we will probably go over to the cemetery nearby and watch fireworks from there. Glad you were able to get the water pump you needed, and got some more chocolate chippers baked. How often do you have to bake chocolate chippers? Have a good Independence Day and I will see you again tomorrow!

Very impressed with your parade. You had a fun day. I"ll give your cookie recipe a try but maybe make bars instead of cookies. Thanks for sharing it♥

What fun to have a small town parade to celebrate the 4th. A dollar bill! That's amazing. Glad there was another water pump available!

I like the way that folks in the US decorate their homes for this special day.

Wow! You hit the walking jackpot this time! I'm assuming it will go into the jar with the rest of the money you find. Do you keep track of how many dollars you have found?

Sounds like a very good day! Love that you are knitting and eating frozen pizza and making lots of cookies for the church kids. Life's little pleasures!

Oh, and congrats on the dollar! Also, I love parades, but rarely go to them. A shame. I should remedy that.
