Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walk to Town

The warmest morning so far at 65 degrees.
Kind of nice that it was cloudy to keep it cool.
Left the Jeep at home this morning and walked to town.

On the way to town saw a skunk, a few squirrels, rabbits,
chipmunks and deer.

Getting to town.

After walking around lower cemetery a couple of times I went
back up to the main road.

Walked around town and then headed back home.

Didn't see anyone else around town
but did see a man walking his dog down the main road while I was
heading home.  Have seen him a couple of times down my way.
Thought he might have just moved into a mobile home
on the corner where I turn off toward home.
Stopped to say good morning and asked if he just moved there.
Yes, he did.  We didn't really talk much because we were on opposite
sides of the main road with cars passing so don't know his name yet.

It was a 2 mile walk to town,
2 miles around town,
and 2 miles back home again.

☁️    🚢‍♀️    πŸ™‚    ☁️

Left mid morning to go to church to load the boxes in the trailer
with the Roman's books that we all put together.
There were 21,000 books to load which were in 51 boxes.
I didn't help because our assistant Paster Matt helped Ken load.
While they worked I had a nice conversation with Pastor Leatherman. πŸ™‚
Later in the month we will take the books to Bedford, Pa
to the warehouse. From there they will be shipped to Mexico.
(the Roman's books are in Spanish)
We will also pick up another pallet of material to work on for next month.

On the way home we stopped at McDonalds and picked up
spicy chicken sandwiches and ate them by the start of a walking path.

Back home and by then I didn't feel like doing any housework
so I stayed outside and did a bit of weeding.

Was supposed to rain by afternoon but we just had a mini shower
that lasted a couple of minutes.
Most of the day was cloudy but the sun was out for a short time too.

Once in a while it's fun to have what I call a fun supper.
We had one tonight.
Cut up some potatoes and made French fries in the air fryer
 and that was supper!!

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy Monday to you.

That was a very warm start to your morning! Nice. Fun to see your walking route, too. Romans is a great book to send to Mexico! We're cooking up burgers and our two daughters in law and 2 grands are coming for dinner. We have tater tots cooking, too. Enjoy your evening.

I always enjoy your walks! When we have "just" French fries for dinner I like to put bottled gravy and shredded cheese on top.

Lovely blossoming tree, in an early photo here...

With this heat/humidity coming in, your fun supper sounds perfect!!!!!

It is so hard to think of supper, in this weather. We have a couple of leftovers, which we will probably just heat up. Even that much heating, sounds awful!!! LOL

Lovely feeling of accomplishment!!!!

Gentle hugs,

I like how you break up your walk in to three two mile parts. It makes the walk go by fast. Nice photos of your walk!

The white trees in the first picture are so beautiful. Do you know what kind they are?

I like the idea of French fries in the air fryer for supper. Gonna do it tonight. Will probably burn some ground beef on the grill to go with. Thanks! :-)
