Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Cool Summer's Day

A chilly start to the day at 41 degrees, but it was sunny
with nice crisp air and no breeze.

Enjoyed a walk around town, both cemeteries, and the ball park.

A couple of rabbits about and the deer was down by the Drane house
again.  Pretty sure it is the same one.

Saw Joy and walking and we passed by each other two different times.

Stopped to take a peek to see how the garden at the
Drane house is doing.

This is behind the Drane house and the pond.

Walked  6.2  miles

Think these pretty flowers are Sweet Pea.

☀️    🚶‍♀️    ☀️

A beautiful sunny day though again on the cool side.
Great day for getting the laundry done.

Spent a good part of the day straightening up our bedroom closet.
Didn't throw anything out but gave it a good vacuuming and dusting.
Took everything down off the shelves and picked everything up off the floor.
Lots of dust accumulates on those top shelves!!
My side of the closet is always nice and neat but Ken's
side is a different story. 🙂
Now his side is nice and neat too!

Got another Bible Lesson done this afternoon on the ABC lessons.
I finished up with W for Witnessing.
Only three more lessons to go.

Didn't get all that much rhubarb this year but picked all
that was left - maybe enough for a half of a rhubarb cobbler.

That's it for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
A happy Wednesday to you.

It's Wednesay!
I'm breathing.
I'm healthy.
I'm truly blessed.
I'm grateful for this day.

Comment Replies:
A few comments mentioned the 'gloves' so here's a recap about them.
It is me who finds the gloves along my walk and put them on the posts along the main road.  It is like they are waving good-bye to people leaving town.

They are mostly work gloves and I think maybe workers put their gloves on the roof or in back of their trucks and forget about them.  Then going down the road the gloves blow out of the truck.

No one has picked any of the gloves off the posts but one day they will all be gone.  That's what happened last time anyway.

Victor - I find all sorts of clothing.  Of course the gloves, but I've also seen boots, hats, shirts, jackets, sweaters, and socks. I don't pick them up or put them anywhere though. Just amused at the things I see.

Anni - I've heard it's not good to eat raw cookie dough too, but I've been eating it my whole life and don't intend to stop now. 🙂

Deb - Yes, I do keep a record of the books I read.  Under the header picture is a link that says, Books in 2021, you'll find my list there.

Wow, chilly start for you! But looks like a gorgeous morning for a walk. The Drane garden is so well kept. Lovely. And it's always a beautiful thing to see laundry on a clothesline. Sounds like another great day for you. Go you on getting your closet in good order. I bet that feels so good. Take care!

Well done on getting your closet sorted.
It's nice to get the laundry dry outside if you can ...

All the best Jan

Tuesday rained all day in my neck of the woods but I too still walked. I gave my husband a plastic bin for his side of the closet and that helped with this things. And his dresser is off limits (lol). I don't want to get too controlling regarding that as I do not want him to tell me what to do in my dresser. Thanks for sharing!

I'm so amazed at the temps you have into the summer. I get out for my walk at dawn and it's already in the 80s! Looks like a productive day with all the laundry out and closet all cleaned up. Have a great evening. :)

That is a nice looking clothesline. I just reminded Dan this morning that I need a new clothesline put up. It was chilly here this morning but not 41...it was 61 here. Sure felt good.

A beautiful garden at the Drane House. Seeing your laundry on the line brought back so many memories from years gone by.

A clean and organized closet always feel so good. I am wondering who tends the garden at the Drane House. Volunteers or an employee? I love the shot of your laundry hanging on the line. Glad you had another nice day. See you again tomorrow.

You'd think it'd be the raw eggs being the culprit...flour is not "raw"...it's processed several times from the wheat chaff. Me too...I like cake batter myself.

Yep, sweet peas. Pretty!

One day in the park I found a full set of clothing. Shirt, trousers, jacket, hat, socks and shoes. All lying there on the grass. Their owner was still wearing them. He was too heavy to pick up and put on a post.

God bless.

Oh yes, 'tis cooooool for summer!

And at twilight, it looked like a Sept. evening.

Plus, youngest 'Grand' said the pool water was warmer than the air!!! Even though it was beautifully sunny. -smile-

Another question please....

How do you count your distance walked?

Please and thank you...

I'm hoping that you have gone for a Fit Bit. And can explain how to use it, just for counting steps. -smile-

I would like one for that, but they seem to count every other possible thing, too. And it would just confuse me.

I think you may be right about the Sweet Peas. I believe they are the perennial sort which I also have. That pink seems to be their main colour although I have some sort of purple ones too. When they bloom ( and when I get my new camera) I'll take pictures.
