Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A cool morning

A bit chilly for June this morning at 42 degrees.
But the sun was shinning, there was no wind and the air was clear and crisp.
A beautiful morning and a great one for walking.

Had my usual walk around the cemeteries, ball park, and town.
This picture is taken when I was at one of the cemeteries looking
across the field at the other cemetery.
That cloud is steam coming off a farm pond.

Took another picture from the other cemetery.

Then finally walked to the edge of the cemetery to take this last picture.

Surprised not to see anyone else out walking this morning.

Someone in town is getting a new roof on their house
and at another house a big old tree was being taken down.
Always something to see when out for a walk.

Walked 6 miles
Found a dime

☀️    💰    🙂

It was Blankets for Babies day at church this morning from 9:30 - 12:00.
There were 13 of us there today.
I didn't have breakfast there because I ate at home.
Dorothy gave the devotional this time and then we got to work.
(Somehow my hand got raised to volunteer to give the devotional next month)

I finished June's blanket Tuesday, which I handed in and
today started working on July's blanket.
Colors are soft blue, robin egg, and lemonade.

This afternoon got a little bit more house cleaning done and then
puttered about doing fun stuff.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Martha - There are a few links down past the posts - If you click on the one that says A Walking Post from 2010, it will explain how I started walking.

Victor and Kim - I have never tried to figure out how many miles I've walked but in comments John came up with this.
Now consider this ... you usually walk 6 miles. I know there will be exceptions, but just for fun ... if you walked 6 miles every day for 33 years that would be 72,270 miles. That's about the same as walking around the earth (24,901 miles) 3 times!

Kim - I just start walking and see where I end up.

Hi Karen. 42 degrees is quite cool for June. We are only getting down into the 70s during the night here - and still up into the high 90s during the day. Hot week. So glad you are back with the baby blanket group. I know you enjoy that! I hope you will share with us your devotional when you give it next month! Have a good Friday. See you again soon.

Good evening! Thanks for the replies to my questions. What a gorgeous morning walk! I can smell the fresh air from here. Love your butterfly collage. And yay, a dime! Take care!

I can't even imagine 42 degrees in June, it doesn't usually even get that cold here in Florida in the winter! The cloud of steam coming off the pond sure made for some nice shots. The butterfly collage is so pretty and I can't wait to see July's baby blanket. I did read the link to your walking history post and still so impressed with how far you walk each day. I love walking too but sure don't log the miles you do!

Haha...chuckling at the fact that your hand somehow went up to do the devotional next month. I'm sure you'll do well. I like that mist rising up off the cemetery.

I like that mist rising from the farm pond. It's so true that there's almost always something to see that's a bit different every time you walk. For me this morning I noticed that a lot more birds than usual were singing. I couldn't see them but I sure heard them.

Hello,

The fog over the pond looks pretty, great photos. I love the butterfly.
It is only 52° here this morning. A chilly start to a June day.
Have a happy day and great weekend!

Hi- Good that John has worked out how far you have walked over the past 33 years..a good bit of practical mathematics. I like your Fog photo Karen - very nice to see this mist rising from the Pond. Regards. KEV.

Three times round the earth - how many dimes, pennies and coins is that?

Look at that "Dragon's Breath"!!! Your local Dragon was really huffing, about something!!!! -smile-

Concerning the *worry* that everyone has, about no more email announcement of our new posts..... I only have 1, who needs them, so I will simply send a quick and easy email to her. When I do a new post.

that's it.

I know we can pay someone who does such things. But I have never paid anyone, anything... To help me blog, in all the years I have been blogging. Not gonna' start now. -grin-
