Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Little Ones

38 degrees this morning when I started out walking.
Another sunny walk for which I am thankful. 🙂

Driving to town and just down from the house I saw a deer
and a tiny little fawn on the side of the road.
I stopped the car and mama went in the woods.
The fawn must have just been born not very long ago because
it could barely get up.
I got the window down and took a picture just in time before
the fawn got up and followed mama.

Once I got to town, had my usual walk all around town,
the cemeteries and the ball park.
Again didn't see anyone else out walking.

Down at the town pond I stopped to watch a new family of geese.
The three little ones had quite a struggle getting up the little hill.
(right hand corner of picture)

One made it up first and is over by mama.

All three now up there by mama and papa.

Pictures not that great but the best I could do with a phone.

Walked 6 miles

🌤    🙂    🌤

Beautiful blue skies with white puffy clouds again today.

Ken was outside working out back repairing one of the stone walls
he made.  After the winter with freezing and thawing some of the
stones came down.

While he did that, I got a bit of weeding done and
some of the deadfall out back picked up and added to the fence.

Got a little knitting done just before supper which was
Baked Ziti but the ziti were mini wheels.
What I've been doing is when we have pasts and sauce for
supper, I make a whole box and save half.
Then a couple days later I just add sauce and cheeses and bake
in the oven for another meal.
Quick and easy.

That's all I have for today.
Hope your Friday was a good one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Ahh...that fawn is so cute and so new. I love meals that can stretch like that. Glad you had a good productive day!

I would have been so thrilled to see that fawn! They are just so cute.

There are somethings I especially like to cook extra and just have to warm up later. Some things are better the second time around. I have been known to fry up hamburger and save some to do something else with, like you do with the pasta.

It looks so summery in your pictures. Hard to believe it gets so chilly at night. What a sweet little fawn. You were quick enough to get that photo!!

That's exactly what I do with pasta dishes.

That little fawn is precious. As are the goslings. Nature on our morning walks never ceases to give comfort & joy!!!

The baked pasta sounds yummy, great way to use the leftover pasta.

For me sometimes it's peaceful not to see anyone walking. Great geese and puffy cloud pics! Thanks for sharing the cooking tip.

This time of year I always worry about the little baby animals that can barely walk and that can't fly yet. They are so vulnerable!
