Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Surprise Donuts

46 degrees this morning for walking - saw the sun for just
a little and then cloudy.

Saw a raccoon on the way to town.
He was going down the middle of the road and ran off to to the
side as I slowly passed him.  He must have been going home
after a night out.

Walked around the lower cemetery and then went through town
to the industrial park and walked around there.

Continued on to the ball park and walked around there, around town
a bit and ended up lastly at the cemetery on top of the hill.

The boots were NOT on the garbage can.
Took the lid off and looked inside but NO boots.
Looked all over the cemetery but NO boots to be found.
The boot mystery will have to remain a mystery.

The streets in town were getting their spring cleaning.
Removing all the grit and gravel from winter.

Walked 6 miles

☁️    πŸ™‚    🚢‍♀️

Was back from walking just a few minutes when David and Liz
popped in with some freshly baked donuts from the bakery in town
to share with us for breakfast.
What an unexpected treat that was.

The day stayed cool with periods of rain so we stayed inside
and did the usual puttering about the house things.

I finished sewing the weave-it squares together so
April's Baby Blanket it done.
If you care to see a picture of it click

Hope you day was a happy one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Vee - The cobbler I make just has rhubarb in it but I like it with strawberries too.

SusanQ - Don't know too much about woodpeckers but they make holes in trees getting to insects and bugs.  They like soft woods but they do make in holes in both live and dead trees.  As to the tree in my post, not sure if it is dead or alive - can't tell until the trees get their leaves.

Diane - David is NOT looking to buy a new car, him and Liz already have a Jeep - He is just dreaming of that blue one!

Raccoons are so cute!
A donut surprise breakfast sounds perfect to me.

Maybe the boots are in a tree or a roof? Look up...just saying. Now, gonna go view your blanket.

The weave-it squares baby blanket is so pretty. It looks soft and cuddly. Wish someone would show up here with freshly baked donuts. That must have been a fun surprise.

Beautiful morning shot! Those racoons sure are some nighttime party animals ;)

I hope we will see the boots again, it was too much fun for them to just go away now. Fresh donuts are always a nice treat, and the baby blanket is beautiful!

Thankfully we don't see raccoons free around here.

God bless.

Hello,

The raccoons could be out looking to get into trouble, making a mess with the trash.
The donuts sound great, yum! Love the sunrise and photo. Have a happy day!

Either the owner found his boots finally or someone else decided they needed a new pair! Either way I'll miss their adventures!

Maybe someone just claimed those boots because they were just the right size.

Surprise visitors bearing donuts sounds like a wonderful start to the day. After a 6 mile walk you could afford to eat 2 :).
