Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A hymn for Sunday and a few backyard visitors

 A happy Sunday to you.

What a Friend We Have in Jesus
Joseph M. Scriven, 1855

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear.
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer.
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needles pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in Prayer.

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do they friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
In His arms He'll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou has promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer,
Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.

So funny to look out back this afternoon and see the neighborhood
cows walking around.

One liked it under the bridge.

Two others were roaming around too.  We called Farmer Eugene
and he came over and we helped get the cows back home.
He said they would eventually find their way back home.

A Blessed Sunday to all.
Thanks for visiting.

Around here most people see deer or rabbits in their backyard! Those cows looked pretty happy to be roaming around! Hope you have a good week.

What a funny thing to see, indeed! Glad you could help get them back home. No better friend, Lord and Savior than Jesus!

...when I read you title I thought deer! And then I remembered about your neighbor's escape artist cattle!

I guess the cows can’t do too much damage in winter.

Cattle can be destructive without meaning to be. My concern would be for all your wonderful rock walls and other features.

I usually get my neighbor's cows in the spring, when my grass is definitely greener and my trees shadier than what's on her land. It's always fun, I think.
