Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Ice

I waited till it was light enough to go out and walk
and left from the house at 7:30 to walk to town.
It was 27 degrees with a slight breeze and clear.
Sunrise 7:35

The road down to the main road was icy in spots and I
had to really watch where I walked and it was a little slow going.

When I reached the main road though I could walk up to
town on a dry road.

Once I reached town though it was a different story.
There was just nowhere to walk without having to walk
on ice, so I turned around by the church and walked
back home again.

Didn't see anyone else out walking and didn't see any animals
around either, just some tracks.

A shorter than usual walk at only 4.8 miles.

⛅️    🙂    ⛅️

Thought about walking the other mile in the basement
but never got around to it.

Did some things around the house and then we put
our trash in the back of the truck and went to the dump.
While we were out we decided to go for a little ride and
drove down by the lake.

When we got back I read for a while and did some more
sewing squares.
Ken has started another puzzle. He's put out all the pieces and
finished the border.  I haven't done anything on the puzzle as
yet, but probably will later this evening.

We've been watching the second season of Law and Order
and will continue with that tonight.

Happy Wednesday to you.
Thanks for stopping by.

Such a beautiful sunrise, please be vigilant walking on ice, oftentimes it is not visible.
You have some of the most stunning scenery to enjoy on your daily walks, peaceful and serene, perfect for this chaotic time.
Merry Christmas dear friend, and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Hugs,

Ice is a tough thing to walk on and dangerous, too. Glad you made it to town and back safely. Dear went to the dump on Tuesday so we are all set for the Christmas trash! I'll wait to start the next puzzle till after Christmas. Wow...tomorrow is Christmas Eve day already. Hope you have a good day!

That is a beautiful start to the day.

My dermatologist suggested curling shoes...you know the ice game curling. She says her mom and dad won't go anywhere with them on if it is at all icy. She says they really work. If I could find some place to try them on, I would probably get some, but won't order them off line.

That is a beautiful sunrise picture. Will look forward to see pictures of the completed puzzles. I don't blame you for not walking to walk on the ice. See you again tomorrow!

There's no point in trying to walk where there's the danger of slipping on ice. We went out to walk early but came right back because of ice but did get in a reasonable walk after lunch.
Lovely picture of the pink skies of early morning.

Wow...breathtaking beauty at the beginning of your walk. Peaceful, quiet, and a sky like that...you just can't go wrong.
We're to have high winds today & then a freeze warning along the coast...maybe not a white Christmas but such a winter's day.

Be happy, stay safe, enjoy the holiday!!
