Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

No Soliciting Sign 🙂

52 degrees this morning and cloudy and calm.
Another drive to town and a walk up and down all the streets
in town and the usual loops.

Some leaves are changing colors and other trees are completely green yet.
This tree is across the street from the library.

Walked past a couple of fields and the smell was pretty potent as
they spread manure over it.
Living in farm country though you do get used to it.

Rebecca was out running this morning
and other woman was out running too.
Don't know her name though - she is a serious runner and goes by
too fast say more than a good morning to her.
Saw another walker for the first time and another first timer
was a man walking a big white dog.

There are a few houses around town that are empty and
sad to see that they are falling down a little at a time.
This one is right on the main road.

I like this no soliciting sign that caught my eye as I walked past and
I stopped to take a picture of it.

By the time I was back at the Jeep I had
walked 6 miles.

☁️     🙂     ☁️

Ken went up to the cabin to work on the outhouse
while I stayed home and got a few house chores done in the morning.
But at 10:45 I was done and walked up the lane
(took picture just before I turned up our driveway)

to see how he was doing and there he was working on the roof.

We went back to the house for lunch and then drove the ATV
back to the cabin afterwards.

While Ken did some more work on the outhouse
 I cleared some more brush.

Got the fire barrel going and burned up some old scrap wood.
That's a job I like to do.

Home around 3:00 and we sat on the porch and ate apples.
Still throwing my apple cores and happy to say my
core landed right in the middle of our mini pond. 🙂

 That's all for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
A happy Thursday to you.

Vee - We both like the Jeep.  Haven't had any trouble at all and it is fun to drive.

Deb - Don't have the Vette anymore - sold it last year.  Just not practical having it up here.  Though I'm glad I sold it I sure do miss it at times!

How nice to see the cabin. Cute! That outhouse will be a welcome addition. Nice that it's right on the deck! I enjoy watching the burn pile here. We won't be okayed to burn until later. Hope you are having a nice evening.

Hi Karen- I like the Autumn leaves - so pretty and colorful. It is a shame that old houses seem to get neglected and forgotten about- makes you want to restore them to their former glory. Regards. KEV.

Okay...at the cabin...where your husband is (on the ladder)...this is the outhouse?

Love the Autumn leaves & even the no solicitor signage.

The cabin is adorable!!! I have been wanting to get a “No Soliciting” like that put on a wreath for my door. We do not answer our door for anyone except family or friends and they know to use the back door.

That tree is so pretty! I love when they have all the different colors on them! I love that sign. Could have used that at our old house. This one we don't have a problem with solicitors.

I don't think I have mentioned it lately, Karen, but I love your life, you and Ken live it as it was meant to be!
The leaves are beautiful, I am so looking forward to ours turning soon, and then walk under them as they begin to fall.
I too am sad when I see homes who aren't lived in and are left to fend for themselves! It goes to show how homes flourish when there are people living inside who care of, and appreciate the shelter it brings from the storms of life. I certainly have appreciated my home so much more during these very stressful times.
The cabin looks wonderful!
Thank you for visiting and for your sweet comment.
Blessings,
Sue

I like that No Soliciting sign. We have one by our front door but it's not amusing as the one in your picture.
