Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Busy Day

A mix of sun and clouds, calm, and 65 degrees when I
left this morning on my walk to town.

Walked around the cemetery on top of the hill and then
around town before heading back home again.

Seemed to be extra quiet around town this morning.
Only saw Dwayne as I was leaving town.
Saw one deer and it was a little one on the side of the
road eating apples that had fallen.

Nothing unusual happening,
just a nice peaceful enjoyable walk.
Walked 5.7 miles

While I was out walking Ken got our dump trailer hooked up to the
truck and right after breakfast we went to the stone store.
Ken finished the bridge yesterday and now we need gravel for the
approach to both sides of the bridge.
First trip we got 2 tons of #3 gravel which is pretty big.
Unloaded that and just left it there.
Then left again, this time to the dump to drop off our trash for the week.
Also stopped at church to drop off the money cupcakes.
On the way back stopped at the gravel store again and got another
2 tons of #3.
Dumped that out and had lunch.
Then got all the stone distributed all around by the bridge.

That done we left for trip number 3 to get another 2 tons of gravel.
This time the smaller gravel.
Left the truck in the driveway with the stone because we just didn't
feel like doing any more work today.

We sat on the porch at the end of the work day and had
small strawberry ice cream cones.

Out back we watched our four deer.  Really cool to see them
altogether so close to the house.

Didn't feel like cooking supper so we had a frozen pizza for supper.
It was really very good.

I went outside after supper just to water the plants and Ken went to
just turn the truck around.
We ended up unloading the gravel and spreading it around.

Now we really are done working for the day.
Since we already had ice cream we will be having popcorn for our snack.

Inger - my walking stick isn't new.  My son made it for me years ago.

Victor - 40 of the cupcakes from yesterday have money in them for the kids.  There are 8 cupcakes with no money which are for the teachers and helpers.

You should rest good tonight!

That would be so much fun to have the deer come in the yard all the time.

All that work in one day?! My goodness. I'd be tuckered out for weeks to come. But, I bet everything looks awesome. Your landscape ideas...are they professionslly designed on paper or just in your minds & work on it as the idea hits you?

Hello,

I love both the view of the field and the deer. It is nice to see so many so close to your home. You were busy unloading and spreading the stones, my back hurts just thinking about all that work, lol.
Take care and enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend.
