Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Starting the deck and a visitor

This morning when I left on my walk to town it was
64 degrees and pretty much stayed there all day.
It was cloudy and looked like rain so took along my umbrella.
Felt a few raindrops but they didn't amount to anything.

Walked down the middle of town.
The town was having its annual yard sales and saw a few people
getting ready for that.

Some of you may remember me talking about Joe, who worked for the town,
who I saw driving around in the town truck doing his work.
He'd always wave and sometimes stop for a little chat.
He retired and I hadn't seen him in a least a year.
Well today I saw him in town and we had a nice chat.
He said he still sees me walking most mornings when he drives to town.

I continued walking over to the ball park and walked around the loop,
back through town, and home again.

I saw a wild turkey running up the road.
Tried to get a decent picture, but no luck.

Rebecca was out walking again and saw her 2 times.

Walked 5.6 miles

 My daisies live on.  😀
The first blooms this year on the plants I brought over from the old house.

After a breakfast of pancakes we went outside and got started
on getting the Trex put down on the deck.
It was a bit slow going today.
Had to stop for a while when it rained.

Then we had to go to the drugstore to pick up Ken's medicine.
Home for lunch.
Then back to work.
Worked a bit and then it started raining again so about
2:00 we called it quits for the day.

The rain didn't last long and soon the sun was shining.

Here's the progress so far on the deck.

Pastor stopped by today with his face mask on to see how we were doing.
We stayed out on the front porch.
Nice to talk to him in person instead of just seeing and
hearing him on FB church times.
Appreciated the visit so much.
Just made me feel good to know that he really does care.
He is not only our pastor but our friend too.
I know you read my blog once in a while Pastor,
and if your reading today, want to say thanks for all you do.

That's going to be it for today.
Thanks for stopping by.

Quite a few people commented yesterday about the expensive cheese at Firefly
Farms.  Don't think many local people shop there.  Tourists stop by on their way to the lake and they also send things to a shop in NYC and I'm sure other cities as well.  Everything isn't as expensive as the $28 cheese but that was what I remembered the most!!

In the local market, the market stall selling French cheese collapsed. There was de Brie everywhere.

God bless.

The deck is going to be a beauty when it's done. How nice that your pastor stopped by to see how you were doing. My grandmother used to have a priest come by and say Mass for her when she was very old. She was in her 90s then and hardly went out.

It took me a minute but then I got Victor's little pun. Good one.

Your deck is going to be quite a big one. I'm sure once you get to working on it it won't be long until it's finished.

Well girl, you and Ken got it started. It won't take long on a good clear day. No rain interruptions. It will last a life time and you will enjoy having such a nice place to relax. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
