Deer

When I walked to town this morning it was 62 degrees,
very still and sunny.

A couple of deer just down the road from my house.

Another one a little farther down the road.

Once I got to town I walked around both cemeteries twice
like yesterday and then home again.

Lena and Jim were out walking up to the cemetery
as I headed back down.

The dead deer on the side of the road was finally picked up.
It was there for days!

Sure nice to be out walking on these early summer mornings.

Walked 5.7 miles

☀️     🙂     ☀️

Put a load of clothes in the washer after breakfast
and then we went to the Shop and Save for the weekly food shopping.
Then put everything away and hung the clothes up on the line.

Watched 8 wild turkeys roam around out back for a while.
A couple of deer came by too for a drink in the bird bath
and then they went on the side of the house and had a rest
by my natural fence.

A couple of weeks ago the deer sampled the cone flowers
out front.  The flowers have grown back and will soon be blooming.

My office needed organizing and cleaning up and I got that
chore done today.

Rain showers came through late afternoon.
Could hear thunder off in the distance.
Nice sitting on the porch while it rained.

Thanks for stopping by.

Good to see the deer pictures. I do not see as many around here, since the coyotes took over a couple of wooded area. But this spring we saw four deer going to the woods a 1/4 mile across the road. So maybe the coyotes are gone. I have not heard their yelping. You sure are walking a good distance. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

What a beautiful deer and your lovely country road. Early morning walks are the best, but of course, I can't walk as far as you. But still, the early morning hours are the best of the day.

...I love the sound of thunder, but haven't heard it in a while, it has been so hot and dry here! I like your natural garden!

That would be so much fun to see deer when out walking! And would love to have turkeys to watch from my house.

I do have a porch and sure enjoy sitting on it. The only downside is Roger no longer enjoys sitting out there with me. We used to have breakfast out there at least half the time in the summer, probably more.

WE had a storm roll through here, too, and I'm thankful that it watered all and I didn't need to. How nice to sit out and enjoy the weather.

Nice that your coneflowers have grown back. I suppose that's the price you pay for the joy of having your almost tame deer come around.

I love the picture of the deer. Cleaning and organizing the office is always a good thing to get done. I need to do that as well. See you again soon.

I used to freak out every time the deer would nibble something, but now that my garden is more advanced, I can "lose" a thing or two. And I find that some things that are nibbled come back thicker - a blessing! Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hello,

I love seeing the deer, they seem to have lots to eat around here.
The daisies are pretty, one of my favorites. Nice walk and photos.
Have a great day!

Hi Karen- Nice to see your photos of the Deer. We don't have any such wildlife here were we reside- except various Birds. In forty years we've only had one Owl- it rested awhile on our Cloths Line in the morning then went on it's merry way. Also we've only had one King Parrot visit. Best Wishes. KEV. Great photos of the deer. Too bad about your coneflowers. Hopefully they won't eat the new growth.
