Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A beautiful sunny day

Didn't wake up till 6:30 so got a little later start than usual.
A beautiful walking morning.
50 degrees, sunny with a slight breeze.

Walked into town and stayed at the edge of it and walked
around both of the cemeteries a few times.

The corn has started growing here at Farmer Marvin's.

Rebecca was out walking.

Seemed to be a lot more cars out this morning.

So pretty to see all the wild daisies along the side of the road
here as I head back home.

Walked 6 miles

☀️     🙂     ☀️

We went to the refuse center and dropped off our trash for the week.

Then we stopped to see if the rug store was opened where
we ordered a rug back in early March.
The store closed because of the virus.
I am happy to say YES, they were open and we picked up our rug!!  🙂

We packed a lunch before we left to eat in the truck
and ate lunch in a parking lot watching
people come and go.

Once we got back home we moved furniture, put the new rug
down and moved the furniture back again.
Wasn't a lot to move, just two chairs and a few little things.
I'm very pleased with the new rug.

☀️     ☀️

A deer came to visit out back and stayed around a while.

Here's where we put the chairs we painted.
Nice to sit out back here and enjoy the sounds of the woods.

That's it for today.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions about getting books on
the kindle.  Looking into all of them and yes I can get ebooks
at our library.

That's good that you could get your new rug …

Lovely photographs of the deer; we had some squirrels in our garden today, but I didn't get a photograph.

All the best Jan

The chairs look great there...do the deer ever visit when you are outside?

Sitting outdoors on newly painted chairs, listening to the sounds of nature (and cool weather...we had heat index of 114° today) sounds like an ideal day. Love the daisies & your yard visitor!

Ps...do we get to see the new rug?

I love the wild daisies! What a beautiful place to walk. I can imagine sitting in those chairs and listening to the birds. "Our" mockingbird surely did sing some pretty songs this morning.

The roadside Daisies are a welcome sight. Here we have lots of Lupines beside the freeway and every side road too.

Seeing all those daisies brought back a flood of memories . When the daisies were blooming, we used to have a ragged looking, yet beautiful lawn. Jake could not bear to go over them with the mower, so we had patches of daisies all over. I sure do miss that. Guess what I really miss is the man who loved his daisies enough to let them stand where the were.

You had a nice tour. The corn looks the same in our fields.

The photo of the deer is really pretty.

Glad you were able to pick up your rug! Sounds like you had great walking weather, too. Like the chairs in the woods, too.
