Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

11 gloves

A walk under cloudy skies this morning.
Temperature 54 degrees F and a little breezy.
Walked down the hill to the main road and up another to town.
My route today was up and down the streets in town,
a loop around the ball park and home again.

Remember the wishing well by the church?
Now they have added a bench there.
Noticed a trench was dug and electric was put in
so they aren't finished there yet.
Hard to image now that a house stood there not too long ago.
One day a year in town there is a day called Spring Clean up
and you can put anything out at the curb and it will be carted away
to the dump and today was the day.
Usually just a few people will put something out.
Well it was different this year.
There was lots of stuff sitting out at the curb but I didn't see anything
worth taking home.
With people having to stay home it looks like lots of people
did a lot of clearing out of basements, attics, and sheds.
This was by FAR THE MOST stuff that anyone put out.
I couldn't believe how much stuff was there.
It's going to take a truck load just for that one house.
Wouldn't it be nice to rummage through everything.
You would be sure to find something you needed!! ๐Ÿ™‚

As many of you know I've been putting gloves that I find as I walk along
up on the posts along the road and today put up yet another one.
This makes 11.
The first one went up back in November and all of them are still there!

Rebecca was out walking.
She was leaving town as I was getting there.

Walked 6 miles

After breakfast we took our trash out to the refuse center
out on Bumble Bee Road.
I love the name of that road!
Made a stop at the post office on the way back home.
That was our outing for the day.

Look who we spotted over by the power box
when we came back home.  ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

After lunch the sun came out and it was 60 degrees so
I went outside and did some more work clearing the woods out back.
Got the back section finished and decided that is all the clearing
I'm going to do of the woods. The rest will just be natural woods
except for making the trails.
Ken came out and we started another trail that starts in the front.

After a couple of hours of that we sat on the porch for a while.

Supper was easy this evening.
Left over potato soup from the other day.

Another cross stitch progress report this Monday.

Last weeks picture, HERE.

 That's been my day.
A happy and healthy day to you.
 Thanks for stopping by.

...it has been chilly here, soup sounds good, we have homemade chicken vegetable. That calf doesn't seem to like it at home, take care.

That is a lot of stuff from one household, but, I'm thinking if I got serious, I might have a pile that big too.

The cross stitch is coming along fast now. I never know, without looking closely, whether an animal at your place is real or a cutout. We used to have that dump hauling feature one day of the year, it rotated around town for one week with each street designated on a certain day. I sure loved it and wish that it would come back. It is hard for me to haul all the things that must be taken off.

Nice progress on that cross stitch. Bumble Bee Road is a nice name for a road!
That renegade cow is relentless. LOL! Potato soup sounds so good right now. Happy new week to you!

That is a lot of stuff to be taken to the land fill, from just one house. Yes, many of us have time on our hands for doing projects like decluttering. I think a few flowering bushes would look nice around the bench and wishing well near the church.

Years ago we had a clean-up day too when you could put anything out and the city would cart it away. Now that's a thing of the past. People still put things out with FREE signs though and sometimes it's worth stopping and having a look.
That calf appears to be hiding behind the electric (?) box.

Hi Karen-another jam packed day for you to enjoy. We have three allowed rubbish picks ups a year from the Local Council - each one hes to be Booked In. I brought home a 'Greek Goddess' Statue some time back- couldn't believe that it was put out as rubbish- it is now on our Back Veranda. Regards. KEV.

The cross stitch is beautiful! Th as t sute is a pile of junk...I think all the places here where w donate to is closed so maybe that is why so many people have things to be hauled away.

Hello,

The bench and wishing well look nice. That is a lot of junk, it would be nice if some could be recycled. The calf is so cute, I think he likes to visit with you. The soup sounds yummy! Take care and have a great day!

I love when they have clean up day in my town. So many interesting things to see. I never take home anything anymore though.

11 gloves, the number contiues to grow. Cute name that bumble bee road, I wonder if there is a story behind that. The calf likes to roam and check the neighborhood just in case something needs attention. :)
Have a wonderful day!

What a cute cross stitch sampler! I am fascinated with everyone clearing out there homes/buildings/garages. I for one feel MUCH better having been on a path to get rid of excess for the past 5 years or so.
