Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

How Great Thou Art

Today one of the hymns we sang at church is one most everyone knows.
A beautiful hymn and Ken's favorite one.
It is one of my favorites too, but then I have many favorites!

How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Chorus:
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on a Cross, my burdens gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

A Blessed Sunday to you all.

Rose -  You can buy trains where pellets are dropped in to make steam, but Ken photo shopped the steam in yesterday's picture.

Cathy - Yes, I did finish reading David Copperfield and thought it was a great book.  It was the second time I've read it.

Oh that is one of my favorites too:) I love to sing the older hymns that I grew up with as a child. We have a wonderful music director at our church (also the youth director) and he is so good about keeping the older hymns as part of our worship service each Sunday. Hope you have a great week:) I dropped over from another blog where I saw your comment!

I love that song. Years ago, my husband and son put together a slide show, featuring this song. To this day, when I sing it, I close my eyes and see the photos they used.

I love hearing this song. Sometimes if someone sings it good, It will give me Jesus bumps.
