Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day at home and a haircut

Woke up to 33 degrees and a cold rain falling.
Snowflakes mixed in there too
so ended up walking loops around the train layout in the basement.
Walked 4 miles before breakfast and 2 more
just before lunch.
Another day around the house.
Didn't get a whole lot done but kept busy doing
the usual stuff.
More of the counted cross stitch got done.
If I work on it a little every day by Monday
I'm hoping there will be good progress for you to see.

Ken gave me a haircut this afternoon.
It now just reaches the end of my chin.
I'm very pleased with it.
He did a great job.
Sorry no picture.
Made Sweet and Sour Chicken for supper.
The kitchen is such a mess when I make this but it is so good
it is worth all the clean up.

Will be listening to the Wed night church service live on FB again
in just a little while.
Nice that we can do this but I sure do miss going to church.
Miss our church family!!!
That's it for today.
A happy and healthy day to you.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Karen. I don't know if I would trust Charly to give me a haircut. Glad that Ken did a good job. Enjoy online church tonight.

I wouldn't trust my husband to give me a haircut, so I will stay shaggy. Glad that you are well!!

Wow! Ken is really multi talented, I don't know if my dh could cut my hair or not.
I am so thankful for new technology, having service on line will have to do for now but I know meeting together is so much better. Hope the sun shines for you tomorrow, I walked today, it was cloudy and cool, but will be 80 by the weekend, Yay! Thanks for coming by and for your sweet comment.
Blessings,
Sue

Very nice to have your own personal hairdresser! I need a haircut. I look like a tufted titmouse. 🙃

I have blue streaks put in my hair for the month of April in honor of my grandson who has Autism. Maybe I can convince my hubby to do that for me since my hairdresser is closed for the duration! Hope tomorrow's weather is better for your walk.

Crazy world we are living in but it's so good to know that God already knows all about it! Stay safe and healthy, Karen!

I am not sure I would trust Roger to cut my hair or not, even if he could...LOL

A cold rain with some snow mixed in does not sound pleasant. Good that you can get you walk in at home, warm and dry.

I understand your missing your church family. I have been missing mine as well. I guess when this is all over, we will appreciate church even more.

Hi Karen-We had a funny sort of day. I needed Tablet Medication Scripts from my Doctor who phoned me this morning at home to arrange that I park in the Surgery Car Park- then phone him for the Receptionist to bring out the Scripts to the car from the Office- all because of the Virus. Later- we had take away Coffee and Egg and Bacon Rolls from our local village cafe'...again because of the Virus - it had to be Take Away. Later I had a sleep and then phoned my Cousin out West only to find out her Grand Daughter had lost he job at 'Rivers' ...again all because of the Virus...a lot here is closing down with reports that Unemployment could reach two Million people. The only really good news to-day was that my Mate's Son tested 'Negative' to the Virus. Stay Well there Karen and Ken. Regards. KEV.

Hello,

Hubby and I were just talking about giving each other a trimming to our hair. The sweet and sour chicken sounds good, I will check out your recipe. Wishing you a happy day!

You're a brave woman to stay still while hubby mans the shears!

Reading the above comment, I think your hubby is a brave man to cut your hair. I would be scared to death cutting anyone's hair.

Now Ken can add hair stylist to his resume. :)
Glad that you liked it.
Stay safe!

Getting your hair trimmed feels good I know! It's nice to get those ordinary things done. I read that you said your house had never been so clean...that's me too! lol But I'm glad to have time to sew and read and I'm going to make bread later! Take care! Let's keep walking my friend! And stay healthy!

I have a baked spaghetti recipe that I really love but it uses so many pans and makes such a mess I rarely make it!

Hair cuts are obviously a moot point to me, but with all the hair stylists and barbershops closed, a lot of people need to find alternatives.
