Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Merry Christmas

A quiet but nice Christmas for us today.
Made us chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.

We just had nice relaxing day.
I got some reading done and finished the weave-it squares
for the January baby blanket.
I'll be starting to sew them together later this evening.

I didn't go walking this morning but after lunch
I went walking around Happy Trails.
It was a nice warm day in the 50's!!
It was so quiet and peaceful.
Every so often I would stop and listen to the quiet.

Maybe this little Charlie Brown tree will be a good choice for next
years Christmas tree.

A very Merry and Blessed Christmas to you all.
Hope your day was all you hoped it would be.

The great challenge left to us
is to cut through all the glitz and glam of the season
that has grown increasingly secular and commercial,
and be reminded of the beauty of the One who is Christmas.

Hi Karen. Merry Christmas. Sounds like you had the best kind of Christmas - spending it with a loved one and just relaxing and doing what you want to, then getting out in nature to appreciate God's world. I also like to just stop and listen to the quiet when I am hiking and in a place where it is quiet. So glad you posted today. See you tomorrow, my friend!

Your Christmas Day sounds like a lovely, low-key time to soak up the season. It was near 70 here today...beautiful! Enjoy the rest of your week. :)

Merry Christmas, Karen. The roads sure were quiet today when we went to the our daughter's house. Just hardly any cars. And it was in the 50's here andd supposed to be in the low 60's tomorrow.

Maybe next Christmas you can just hang a single red ornament from that Charlie Brown tree!

Quiet can be good at Christmas.

There's something to be said for a quiet Christmas. DH was very ill on Christmas Eve so we sat in the ER until 1 A.M.. Not the best way to start the festivities but he's on antibiotics now and will soon be okay.
I like your Charlie Brown tree. Hope it grows a wee bit before next Christmas though.

Merry belated Christmas, Happy-K. Glad that yours was good. Sometimes quiet can be good. No white Christmas but your woods are inviting and pretty.
