Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Stone Wall

Left the house walking at 7:00 this morning.
It was 60 degrees, very calm with some fog around
that gave way to sunshine.
These warm mornings are somewhat unusual for this time of year.
Sunrise 7:13

Walked to town.
Saw three deer along the way and three chipmunks ran across the road.

Just walked to the edge of town where both cemeteries are and
walked around them a few times where it was nice and quiet.
Lisa was out running but we were on opposite sides of the road
so just waved.
The house next door to the house that had the For Sale sign out,
has the For Sale sign in their yard now.
I'm thinking the sign must have been put at the wrong house at first.
(Victor you are confusing some people! 🙂  It is the HOUSE not
the German Shepherd that is for sale)  🙂
Walked 6 miles
🍁     🌤

Did some house work in the morning and
got a meatloaf started in the slow cooker.

Ken was outside working on his stone wall.
He is thinking he will be done with this side by the end of the week.

In the afternoon I walked around Happy Trails and then
sat on the porch and made a few weave-it squares.

It was nice sitting on the porch watching the leaves fall off
the trees when the wind blew.
Having a front porch is one of life's little joys.

I made roasted potatoes and carrots to go along with the
meatloaf for our supper.

Well this first day of October is over already!!
Hope your day was a happy one.

I love all of your pictures today, but that old highway that goes on forever is really special. Ken's Wall is looking so good! I love it too!

Great minds...I also made a meatloaf and would have had a roasted potato if I could have found one. The story of my life...lost potatoes!

We have had rain and cooling for this first day of October and now a nice thunderstorm, too.

Sorry that you still must be concerned about the dog.

The wall looks beautiful!

I like that misty view.

We have unsettled weather here at the moment.

I love the cool, crisp mornings of fall where the fog burns off and leaves a bit of sunshine behind. I love the stone wall and I surely do miss having a porch to sit on.
I hope you had a wonderful day and evening. xo Diana

That stone wall is a work of art. Is he using anything to hold it together, or relying on his choice of the stones to stay put? Lovely fall pictures from up your way.

I don't intend to confuse people. Has the German Shepherd dog now moved next door to the house that is now for sale? Or is he still in his original house which is not now for sale? And is anyone singing "How much is that doggy in the window"? In either of the two houses.

God bless.

I love that misty shot. It has a beauty all it's own.
Ken's wall is looking really nice.
Your dinner sounds like delicious comfort food. I'm looking forward to those types of meals. Only supposed to be 97 here tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the 74 degree high that is promised for Saturday.
