Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A rainy and windy day

Driving to town saw a few deer along the way.
Started my town walk at 6:40.
Was surprised that the temperature was a 51 degrees.
Thought it would have been cooler.
Sunrise 7:28
but never did see the sun.
Walked all over town, up and down the streets.
Have a route now that I usually walk but do deviate from it often.

Went around the ball park loop and both cemeteries.
Walked down to see the cows again.
Only 5 of them there today.

The lower cemetery has corn on two sides of it.
Looks like some animal ate this ear.
Cleaned off the kernels pretty good.
Pretty quite around town and didn't see anyone else out.

Felt a few rain drops at the 5 mile mark but it didn't amount to anything.
Once I started driving back home, the rain started.

Walked 6 miles

A rainy day so nothing got done outside.
Ken spent a good part of the day down in the basement
working on his train layout.

I kept busy with house work in the morning.

This afternoon I finalized my thoughts and got them written
down for the devotional tomorrow at Blankets for Babies.

Read and made a few weave-it squares.
These squares are for the yellow and white gingham bedspread
I'm making for us.

It's been rainy and windy with temperatures dropping
during the day.
Very windy right now and 39 degrees.
Trees are shedding their leaves big time.
Might have a cold walk tomorrow!

Hope your day was a happy one.

This is the last leaf picture,
and it's not a leaf at all,
but the stain left on the sidewalk from a wet leaf.

Because of your giddy-up-and go this morning, you were just ahead of the cold rain. It may be time to get out the warm L.L. Bean coat. :~/ Both your pictures today, nice as they are, seem to be sending the message that winter is knocking on the door. The leaf print is a little ghost-like.

I had to laugh about the ear of corn eaten by some animal. They surely were hungry. You do see some interesting things on your walks. It has been down right cold here at night and early mornings. What is happening. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

The last leaf, eh? ☺️ That’s what I’m afraid of once this storm blows through overnight and tomorrow.

Praying that your lesson goes very well and is well received.

I almost forgot that you are working on a yellow weave-it blanket for your bed. Both you and Ken know how to stay busy no matter the weather.

...I'd say that it's a print, not a stain.

That is a cool last leaf picture...now I want to go look for stains. That is getting cool...it was 48 when we left the house about 10:30...I am not sure if it warmed up much more, but am sure it did some.

That is a neat picture of the leaf. It looks like a drawing. Our weather yesterday was a lot like yours. Rainy and windy and turning cooler. Leaves were falling like crazy here too.

The temperatures are finally dipping here and its starting to feel like Fall. We got some rain too and it was much needed as it hasn’t rained here in months.

I walked in wind and rain this morning. Leaves were flying around and it was amazing.
