Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Rainy Walk

Yesterday's walk was just over 4 miles.
That's all I had time for.
It was a Fingerprint work day at church
and spent the day there.
A picture from yesterday's walk.
A tree growing in a tree.
This morning I was out at 6:40 leaving for my walk.
It was 56 degrees and a rainy one.
Sunrise 6:37

Walked to town with my umbrella up the whole time.
Walked around the lower cemetery and then up the hill
to the other one, around there a few times and then
headed back home.

Didn't see any animals around this morning.
Guess they were all taking cover from the rain.
There were quite a few squashed dead frogs in the road.

Stella, one of the dogs that run out in the road after me
was out this morning and came running out.
Her owner called her back and luckily Stella listened.
I was ready with my umbrella. 😁  ☂️

It was fine walking in the rain but nice to get home
to a dry house.
🌧     🌧
Put some chicken in the slow cooker along with a jar of salsa
for supper.

Rained all morning, cloudy by lunch time and sun shining at 3:00
but by that time is was too late to start work outside.
🌤     🙂
I baked a cake today and look forward to having a piece with
a little ice cream on top for my snack later.

Got a lot of reading done today.
Good book with lots of surprises.
Cemetery Road by Greg Iles.

Hope your day was a happy one.

Victor - The picture you asked about is right from the camera.  Some of the roads here use a reddish stone in the pavement which comes from Pennsylvania. The road in the picture was wet and the light was just so that made the color.

...a beautiful day here with blue skies and white puffy clouds. I wouldn't mind a bit of rain.

Lovely scenery Happy One. It's supposed to rain here today but so far only gray skies and it's already 4 p.m. I can already feel a big difference in the air almost 2 weeks earlier than usual. I'm glad yo got your reading in and some cake and ice cream. That sounds like a nice day.

I had a hilarious picture come in mind when you said you were ready with your umbrella...there is a Tom and Jerry Cartoon where Jerry has on a fancy hat with a big plume or feather, and he has a sword...and I pictured you with the hat and pointing your umbrella at the dog and saying Touche' and pressing the button for your umbrella to open.....I am too lazy to look up the alt code for making that little symbol that goes at the end of Touche?over the e.

One would definitely be glad to get home after having walked four miles in the rain. I really need a better umbrella-one that doesn't turn wrong side out with the first gust of wind. And, maybe a larger one too. The countryside through which you walk looks so clean and refreshed from the rain. I am beginning to notice the shorter days now, and it seemed to me that there weren't as many hummingbirds today.

We had a very welcome rain today. I baked a cake too, mine was a carrot cake which is one we both really like. Especially with cream cheese icing.

Your rainy day pictures are so pretty. Oh, that baby bird in your last post sure touched my heart. How sweet. Chicken and salsa in the slow cooker sounds good...and easy.

The forecast shows we are to get rain Saturday and Sunday. Glad that dog listened to it's master so quickly.

It was close to 80 when we got up today! What a difference! We'll stay in the 80s all day though. Glad that dog went back when he was called! Enjoy your weekend!

Weird how a tree can do that!

It looks like it was a fine morning to walk even with the rain. I always enjoy the smell of the rain on days like that. Interesting to see a tree growing in a tree. Nice photos and have a great rest of the weekend.
