Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Roots of Faith

Proverbs 12:3b
...the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

Proverbs 12:12b
...the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

The Roots of Our Faith
Erwin Sporte

How deep are your roots, are they as deep as a tree?
Or do they stop real short, and well above the knee.

Our faith should be deep for all to see,
To get God's nourishment, like the roots of the tree.

The deeper the roots, it will show how we live,
It will emit from our bodies as forget and forgive.

If the roots of a tree were shallow and small,
It would not take long for it to die and fall.

Our roots should run deep and strengthen our ways,
So the body will glow with the Son's deep rays.

We are all in need of our Lord's nourishing food,
As we go about days doing what is good.

Just walking the streets or having coffee with friends,
Should show our true faith, without any bends.

So deepen your roots and let them spread about,
For it may lead another life to give a glad shout.

A Blessed Sunday to you.

We can no more deepen our own roots than to save our own souls. We can yield to The Lord and that is the best we can do and that only with His help. He is the vine; we are the branches... Is that a tree on your property? It’s a great tree.
