Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Red Car

A field of Queen Anne's Lace
The temperature was 70 degrees this morning and cloudy when I left on my walk.
There was a bit of a breeze and with no sun it wasn't that hot.

Walked to and straight through town and around the ball park loop, then down the side road to both of the cemeteries, around them and home.

After 3 miles I felt a few sprinkles of rain but they didn't amount to anything.

Walking along about 8 turkey vultures came flying low out of the woods and went circling up into the air.
I was thinking something dead was in the woods and that was when I smelled it.
On the way home the vultures once again came flying out of the woods.
They were too fast for me to get a picture.

Lisa was out running and we stopped for a chat and I saw a woman walking her dog.  Happy to say she had her dog on a leash!!

The corn down the street from my house is now as tall as I am
and has the tassels on top.

It was supposed to rain later in the day so we went after breakfast and got the lawn mowed at the house in town.
Finished just in time, about a half hour later it poured and rained on and off for the rest of the day.

We stopped in at Autoland here in town and ended up trading in our Equinox for a nice shiny red Jeep Renegade. 🙂
Got a great deal on it because it is a 2018.
Nice to have a red car again! 🚗
Our new car and the one there on the right is the Equinox.
Visited the library and picked up a book that was on reserve and checked out another too. 📚
Looking forward to starting one of them later.

We went to Brenda's and had pizza for supper.
We usually just get a plain cheese pizza but we celebrated buying the new car and had sausage and onions on it.

Today we got to drive on our newly paved driveway today.  Sure is NICE!

That's about it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Ruta - The buyers can still back out of the deal.  We were presented with a contract offering a price they were willing to pay.  We accepted the deal and both the buyers and us the sellers signed papers.  There still has to be a home inspection and if something is not to their liking they can pull out of the deal.  The sale is not final until we go to 'Closing' where buyers and sellers sign the final papers.

Ohhhh...love your new vehicle! So glad to go back and read that you have a contract on the house. Praying that these buyers are THE ones. Today was so nice after the heat of the past several days. I’m definitely a 70s gal. 😉

Your new car is a real beauty. It's good that it will have a nice new paved driveway all the way home. I really like the picture of the tasseling corn.

Hi Karen- very nice Jeep- always good to step into a new vehicle...our car is now four years old- though it is still brand new...won't be getting another any time soon. Cheers. KEV.
