Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Quess what I saw while walking?

Back to walking this morning.
All day seemed out of kilter for me yesterday not having walked
so sure glad to get my walk in.
Though it was 64 degrees it felt cooler than that because
of the wind.  A few sprinkles of rain at first when I left but it didn't
amount to much and most of my walk it was just cloudy.

Walked to town and through town to the old house.
Then back through town around the lower cemetery.

Didn't see any deer today but on the way home I saw a BEAR.
It is the FIRST one I've seen WALKING.
It ran across the road out of the woods to
the other side of the road and into the woods.
Didn't even have time to be scared, it happened so fast.
That is a good way to see a bear!!
🐻     🐻
Went out after breakfast to Lowe's to return a dehumidifier
that quick working after less than a year.
It was under the warranty and happy to say we got our
money back.  Was going to buy another but then decided to
see about getting one that is hooked up to the furnace.
So we stopped in at the place that installed our furnace here at the house
to ask about it.
The man we talked to was one of them who installed our furnace
and remembered our house.
Anyway we decided to go ahead and do it.

Next stop Walmart to get our food shopping done.

Had periods of rain while we were out but it stopped
once we got home.
We are going to have our driveway paved and we went outside
to measure and see exactly what we want paved before we
call for an estimate.
Didn't quite finish before the rain came
so we sat on the porch and watched it rain for a while.

Ken cooked supper this evening. 🙂
A delicious stir fry.

I've started making squares for the next baby blanket.
This will be a green and white gingham one.

Well that's about it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Oh wow! That must have been something to see that bear. Yikes. Do you carry bear spray when you walk? Sounds like having a humidifier connected to the furnace is a better option. How nice to have Ken make dinner for you! Blessings!

...as a kid I remember seeing bears at the dump in the Adirondack Mountains, that doesn't happen today!

My experience with bears is that generally speaking they'll bolt when they see you.

I do agree that the way you saw a bear was a good way. I have a healthy respect for them, even though we don't as a rule have them around here.

What a surprise that must have been to see a bear! I remember you mentioning that you carry bear spray with you when you go walking.
What pretty pink flowers. I love the dark and light pink mix.

Love your photos today! I would sure be surprised to see a bear cross the road...not sure what my reaction would be.

I used to love to sit on the porch when it rained....and still do if the wind isn't blowing the rain in on me!

Hello,

The bears can move quickly, I love seeing them, mostly they are running away. Beautiful flowers. Wishing you a happy day!

Whew! We know these animals are out there but it's always shocking when we see them! I know everyone says...they are more afraid of you...but still! lol Enjoy your day!

A bear! Be watchful out there!

I had quite a Lowe’s story, too. They had to be prodded to do the right thing by the state Attorney General. Glad that you had good success. The new dehumidifying system should work great!

So glad that bear was on the move when you saw him! It is exciting though...too bad you didn't get a pic of him. Loving those pink flowers...so delicate!

I was wondering when you were going to run into a bear. There are bears here too, but I have never run into one. They used to get in my trash, but that was before the drought. I think they moved to higher elevations. You had a wonderful day, I feel inspired to do a lot of stuff after reading about it.

Wow, what a shock to see a bear. I bet your husband worries about you. You be careful out there! I don't really like to walk brisk for exercise without earbuds, so I joined a gym for safety and to be able to walk all summer without worrying about the heat.
