Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Flowers

55 degrees this morning and just a slight breeze.
Felt like rain, looked like rain,
but it never did rain while I was walking.
Walked down the hill and then up a hill to town.
Saw a few deer and then at the highway
there were two more crossing the street.
First stop was at public works to drop off the water bill for the old house.
Right next door is the library and dropped a booked down the book drop.

Continued walking down to the other end of town to the
laundromat and tacked up a church flyer on the bulletin board
for Bible Time (Bible School) which is next month.

Walked to the Dollar General just up a bit on the left
which made a good turning around spot and then headed back home.
There on the right just past the gas station
is the local lumber yard where we often go.
Found a penny this morning.
It has been quite a while since I've found any coins.
Before moving here when we lived down in the middle of the state
I used to find coins almost every day.
More people around to drop more coins I guess.

A quiet morning around town except for Stuart blowing the horn.😃
He goes to our church and once in a while I see him at work
driving a BIG dump truck.
He gives me a couple blasts of the horn.
It always makes me laugh because it is so loud!

Walked my usual 6 miles
🦋     🦋
On and off rain showers all day.
In the morning we went to Lowe's and bought some flowers
to plant in some containers out front.
Next stop Walmart to do a little shopping.

In between the rain showers we planted the flowers,
Ken cut down a tree,
and I worked clearing more of the woods out back.

Went to Brenda's for our Monday half price pizza.
This evening was the last of the half price.
The tourists are back in town.
Half price will start again in the fall.
The pizza not being half price will NOT keep us from our pizza though! 🍕

A quiet evening now at home.

Hope your Monday as been a happy one.

John - No, I don't think it matters much how fast you walk.  Just a nice comfortable pace.  The most important thing I think is that you just get out and walk. 🙂

Did you notice that green Mustang!!!! Oh, my daughter used to want one of the old ones. She has had 3 others...but now drives a Subaru Forester so she has room for her dog in back. But any time I see an old Mustang I think of her.

You live in/near a town that seems to have all you need but still small enough to enjoy living there.

That roadway view reminds me of some near where I grew up.

You must show the slanted flowers later. I always enjoy seeing how others plant their flowers and the beautiful displays they get.

I tend not to have flowers and I don't like the bees flying around. I'd hate to kill one in defense, as we need them all.

At last ... you found a penny. I was beginning to despair.

God bless.

Your town even has a Dollar Store? No such thing for my town. You surprised me with the flowers. I thought you were all done with them. I’d love to have more flowers than I do, but this is not the summer for that. I’m pretty sure three geraniums, three tomato plants, and a hanging basket of petunias will be plenty to keep me busy. You might be out on today’s walk even as I am chatting away. I know that you’ll enjoy it.

Hello,

I do not remember you showing the street with the stores and businesses before. This was always part of your walking route. The flowers are pretty.
I have been wanting pizza lately, yum! Wishing you a happy day and a great new week!

I used to love Bible School when I was a kid. I could hardly wait for it.
I love the weave it squares blankets rolled under the plants. They even look pretty dirty!

Hi Karen- I had to chuckle that you say that you went to 'Lowe's' for the Plants- here at home 'Lowe's' is a huge Clothing Retail chain of stores- at real good prices...nearly all my Clothes are from 'Lowe's'. The town looks nice and tidy with wide and open streets- looksa good place to live. Regards. KEV.

I love to come home with the back of the car loaded in gardening stuff. It all looks so pretty. Sure wish Dan would go eat pizza with me. Can't believe I married a man who doesn't like pizza!

Haha... I thought of you yesterday when I found $1.01 in change on my morning walk!

"Only in America", my dad used to say, would folks ever throw money in the streets!

Smiles :)
