Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day off

A rare day when I don't take a morning walk and this was one of those days.
Woke up late at 7:20 and it was dreary and wet
and just decided to take a day off.

Got some house work done and then worked on
the yellow gingham bedspread.
Nine strips of 24 squares are now done and sewn together.
 15 more strips to go.

Ken took a video of the deer and her fawn
out back by the arched stone bridge.
Ones goes over and one goes under.
Tried to post it here but blogger said it was too big
so it is on youtube
and you can see it HERE.

Nice to see a little sun today even if it was late in the day.
Hope your day was a happy one.

This is the first I have ever heard you skip a day of walking! Will look at the video when I am on computer.

I find myself wondering what the deer think of the bridge.

It sounds like you've had a good day! It's not easy to take a day off but it's good for you. You see so much of nature right at your home too. Enjoy your evening! Hugs!

Please say thanks to Ken for the cool video of the deer and fawn. I am happy to hear that you took a day off. I got close to doing the same. And it may happen the next time it is raining. I think today was walk #111 without missing a day.

I will check the video later. How unusual for you to sleep in, but you must have needed it. You always manage to do so much in a single day.

Awe what a sweet video. That Fawn looks to only be a few days old as it still wobbles when it walks. So precious.

Been out twice today just trying to get in some steps. Dreary and rainy here, as well. Housework for me and breakfast for supper, later.
