Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Thursday

It felt like summer here this morning.
Temperature was 60 degrees!!
Mix of sun and clouds.

Walked to town and made a loop around the lower cemetery.
Ran into Lisa there and we stopped to talk for 5 minutes or so.
She was out for her morning run pushing her baby granddaughter
in one of those heavy duty strollers made for running with.
What a happy baby Amelia is.
She woke up when Lisa stopped running and she woke up with a
big happy smile for me.

Continued on my way to the post office and dropped a Netflix down the slot.
Then walked over to the ball park loop and walked around there too.
This is the path behind the loop.  Lots of green there now.
A walk through town and back home.
Walked 6 miles
👟     👟
Got some house work done this morning
while Ken went around Happy Trails harvesting a couple bucket loads
of rocks on the tractor.
He is working on the stone bridge out back.

The water feature out front still needs some work.
It seems to have a leak somewhere again and we are having a hard
time finding it.

After lunch we went to town and I picked up a book from the
library that was on hold for me.

This afternoon I was outside again working on the fence.
This section is pretty much cleared of all the deadfall.
This is the next section that I will be tackling.

Stopped a little early and sat out on the front porch and read.

That about rounds it up for today.
A happy day for you.

The calf must be getting used to the world.

Oh, I love sitting on the porch to read. (When I was a kid, I used to take my book to the barn and get up in the loft and read. And at one time we had a mattress that we put across two tier poles and my niece and I would get out on it and read. I have no idea where it came from or why it was at the barn. )

Hi Karen- Nice photo of the little Brook. Warmish days there - Summer is on the way. We've rain here to-day...hoping the rain gets to the drought affected areas of NSW. Have a great weekend. Regards. KEV.

You must be very clever building that fence yourself. Would love a close-up photo. How high is it? Did you get lessons on how to build it?

God bless.

Lovely photographs, and it was nice to read that you 'stopped a little early and sat out on the front porch and read.' … a lovely (and good) idea.

All the best Jan
