Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Spring is in the air

Spring was in the air this morning.
45 degrees F at 7:00 this morning and I watched the sun rise again.
So nice to hear all the birds chirping and I saw numerous Robins
out all along my walk.

Walked to town and went directly to the post office to drop
a Netflix down the slot.  It is 2.6 miles from my door to the PO door.

The ball park is two blocks down the road on the left and I walked
around there.
A woodpecker must have been busy this morning.
Continued my walk around town and then headed back home.
Walked 6 miles
🌷     🌺     🌸
My book club meeting at the library was this morning at 11:30.
Enjoyed discussing the book with everyone and also just
spending time with the women talking about this and that.
Next months book is Educated by Tara Westover.

Ken dropped me off and then went to the house to do some painting.
After the book club meeting was over I walked over to the house.
I didn't do any painting though!

Coming up the last hill to our house on the way home
we noticed one of the little cows had jumped over the cattle grate
and was having a grand old time walking on down the road.
Ken got out of the car and chased it back home while I drove the car.
This afternoon was sunny and warm at 65 degrees F.
I walked up the lane to our driveway that goes up to the cabin.
On the way I stopped by the red gate to see the cows.
That one in the back looks kind of rounded don't you think?
Perhaps a new little calf will be arriving soon.
Ken drove the ATV up to the driveway pulling a little cart and we
cleared the driveway of all the tree branches that fell this winter.
We also cleared the upper driveway that goes up to the Wood Shop.

So nice being able to be outside in warm weather doing some work.
A good feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day.

I had put a meatloaf in the slow cooker this morning so just had to
put some potatoes in the oven to roast and open a jar of
pickled beets for supper.
Quick and easy.

A nice relaxing evening at home tonight.
A happy day to you.

Rose - Yes, I sure could use the help of Lorelei!  😊

PomPom - Walking down country roads your right, I don't find as many pennies.  Perhaps all the coins were buried under the snow!

Adam - Interesting about the yen made out of aluminum.  They must be easy to lose being so light!

...today was one of those days that give you a new attitude, spring was here too, at least for a day. Enjoy.

I can hardly wait to step outside and be greeted by bird song and not just the usual House Sparrows.

Beautiful sky in that first shot!

My first thought on seeing that cow was that she is heavy with child! You will be there close and get to see it when it is just tiny maybe! It was up to low 70's around here today, but the wind would about carry a person away!

Ken looks like a farmer boy with his jeans and flannel shirt. Yes, I think there’ll be some spring babies, which will be sweet. Glad that you were able to do some cleaning up outside today. It will be weeks before we can and it is a mess out there!

How good of Ken to guide the little cow back to safety.
Yep, I would agree it looks like there may soon be some calves being born.
It must have felt wonderful to be outside enjoying the fresh air. Won't be long now.

The farmer is fortunate to have such good neighbors. It's the time of year when cattle start to roam looking for the tastiest of new grasses. I love the pictures today, especially the first one. It was warm and sunny here today, but the wind was fierce. I did not walk bareheaded!

Out in the garden today I noticed some of the trees (apples, pears and plums) are beginning to bud. Spring is not far away.

God bless.

Hello, love the pretty sunrise. You and Ken are great to help out with the cattle. One time we had a small group of cows running down our street, they went into the woods and yards. We heard a lot of mooing going on that day. Meatloaf in the crockpot, sounds yummy. I'll have to try it some day! Enjoy your day, have a great weekend.

Hi Happyone, Sure enjoyed all your photos in this post. That first pic reminds me of the sky I've seen last few days on my walks at Green Lake. Thank you so much for your comments encouraging the walks! Have a happy weekend ahead! John

I am so happy that you are having some warm spring weather. We still have snow but it is slowly melting. 65 degrees sounds wonderful.
Enjoy!
Thank you for all your prayers.

It's amazing how sunshine and higher temps get us snow people out to do work! I still haven't had to chase a cow home but that could happen. LOL! Great photos!
