Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Icy Morning

Last night the rain turned to freezing rain, to snow,
and back to freezing rain.
Another morning not very good for walking outside.
So down the basement I went for a walk.
I opened the front door and took these pictures this morning.
It was very windy too and as the frozen tree branches brushed
against each other they made a crackling kind of noise.
Did the usual morning chores around the house.
After lunch the temperature got to just above freezing
so the ice started melting a little.

We met our friends for another day of bowling. 🎳
 5 of us bowled.
My scores today were:
117
115
123
My bowling was a bit off today but not the fun I had.
Debbie had a very good bowling day though and
hit a new personal high score.
In the 10th frame she had 2 strikes with one ball to go
and a score of 193, just 7 more pins to break 200.
But it wasn't to be, the pressure was just too much
and she threw a gutter ball.
What a great score though!!!  193!!

The bowling alley opens at 3:00 and by the time we are done
bowling it is just the right time for supper so
we go out to eat too. 😊
This evening we all headed over to El Canello's for some
Mexican food.

This evening I'll be reading
watching Netflix
making weave-it squares and
having my ice cream snack.

Hope your day was a happy one.

Victor - Winter still has a ways to go here.  We still get snow in April!  Can't plant anything till June 1.

Freezing rain is the only kind of winter weather I don't like.

We're getting a snowstorm here.

What view that is! I could handle that...ice cream sounds good! Do you have a favorite flavor? Was it you that likes just plain chocolate?

It even looks slippery in the pictures.

You really made the best of a not-so-perfect (depending on how one feels abut snow and ice) winter day. There's really nothing like good friends to laugh and play with. And, of course, you really captured the spirit of the day in your oh-so-lovely pictures.

Though the snow/ice scenes are pretty they can be dangerous, so happy things began to melt, and you could go bowling, I haven't bowled in years, it is a great exercise for sure. You evening sounds perfect, enjoy! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to leave such a sweet comment.
Blessings,
Sue

Snow just began here and we are expecting the same scenario. I just put my mis en place together for those cookies. I’m planning to bake tomorrow as well as putter and clean. Wow! Congrats to your friend on such an amazing score!

It was cold and rainy here today. We have had high wind all day too. My husband walks circles in the house when he cant walk outside. He will actually walk 5 miles inside and we have small house. We have a treadmill but he will not use it. He says its too boring. I have to agree.
He needs a basement.

I really don't envy you all that snow. You will not find many pennies out there. Keep warm and safe Happyone.

I know you are probably over the snow but here in Nashville TN we would love to have some. We on the other hand have not had a winter, just a few days here and there on COLD. Then a couple days later, spring....oops back to cold! haha. Been crazy. We have had LOTS OF RAIN too. Not a fan of summer but I am ready for a change that will stick around. Love the snow pic.

That was a great score! Always good to avoid icy conditions this time of year! Glad you had some exercise bowling besides your basement walk!

That's a lot of snow but it's nice that you can get out in vehicles and do the things you want to do...well most of them! Hope you can get outside and walk soon. We are having a misty day so I'm catching up! Hugs!

The snow really is so beautiful and you've had quite a bit. I am still hoping for one more and then it can be spring. :)
