Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Hooks for coats

More winter weather kept me from walking outside this morning
so back down in the basement for my walk.

Baked the third and final batch of the chocolate cookies
for the Sunday school kids.
The cookies now sit in the freezer till Sunday March 3.

One thing we didn't think of when designing our house was
a closet by the front door for coats.
So today Ken put up some hooks
for coats and hats by the front door
I spent the afternoon reading and making weave-it squares.
See there are some days that I don't do anything. 😊

It's been a dreary and windy day with snow.
No accumulation though, the snow just blows around.

A happy day to you.

...it doesn't matter how much planning you do, somethings are overlooked.

I have a set of hooks by the front door. The grands think that they are just for them. It snowed all day and is still snowing. Thursday will bring more. I am ready for a change, but can not allow myself to hope yet. 🥴

I have some hooks by my door too. Invaluable! Blowing snow doesn't sound very appealing. I prefer to watch it fall gently to the ground! I hope the weather improves soon so you walk outside once again.

Hope your week will be filled with joy.

I kind of like the coats on the hooks...convenient and anyone will feel free to hang their coat up as they come in. And can easily grab their own coat.

Luckily you had the perfect space for the hooks!

We enjoy our coat hooks. Dan doesn't like taking time to put his coat on a hangar in a closet. You really do have the perfect corner for hooks. We are adding 15 minutes of daylight this week, so Old Man Winter is eventually going to have to relinquish his hold on us.

The hooks look great in that spot - a good solution! Sorry your weather has not cooperated lately, and we know there is still plenty of winter ahead … Thanks for your recent visit to my blog - I think it was a little misleading - my birthday is close to Valentine's Day but not on the day!

Hello, the hooks work out well. We may have a snow storm tomorrow. Time to get to the food store for the bread, milk and snacks. Wishing you a happy day!

I'm glad to know that you have days that you actually relax. :) Good job on those hooks by the front door. I love the way they look there. That is what we have in our mudroom also.

I have invented a coat with a hook sticking out on the back so one can hook other guests coats and hats when they come in. Did not sell well.

God bless.

I like the hooks better than a closet, they look so warm and cozy! Hope your weather gets better, our weather is so up and down lately, so I take advantage of the good days, wishing I had a basement, most homes in the south don't have basements, I sure wish we had one though.
Blessings,
Sue

The hooks look perfect there. I like that little corner. You can probably guess what our coat hooks by the front door look like...a couple of deer antlers Poppy nailed to the wall. These hooks hold more dust than anything else. I've just read your last two posts and enjoyed them both. You deserve a day to do nothing.

We have never used hooks as much as we do now in our new area!

Hooks are so handy …
It can be useful to have a couple lower down for the grand-kids to reach and hang up their coats when they visit!

All the best Jan
