Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day of reading

It started snowing late yesterday afternoon but by
morning the temperature had risen to 33 and the snow turned to rain.
It was a slushy mess out there and figured I get soaked
so though I thought about walking outside I wimped
out and did loops in the basement.

Sunset is from Friday evening.

Baked the first of three batches of cookies for the kids at Sunday
school.  Don't have to bring them in till March 3 but I
bake them ahead and then freeze them.
This time they are getting

Didn't much of anything today except read.
Finished How the Light Gets in by Louise Penny.
It was a page turner for me and very hard to put down.
It is the 9th book in the Gamache series and I think the best one so far.
I thought it was excellent.

We drove down the post office and mailed off a couple
of Netflix and then stopped in the library before coming home.
I picked up a book that was on hold for me and checked
out the next Louise Penny book.
Want to finish another book I'm reading first before
starting on these next two.

Decided not to go to Brenda's for pizza for supper tonight
and stay home and make home made pizza.

Temperature supposed to get below freezing again so
it may be icy in the morning.
I'm hoping that won't happen!!

Hope your day was a happy one.

Love that sunset photo...I used to chase sunset photos, but not so much now. I looked up that book...the title just sounds so familiar but I don't know what from. we had a mess yesterday with snow, but then it is almost gone now.

I love the L. Penny series too! I'm tempted to go back and read them again. But I have a lot of books checked out from the library now so I better read faster! lol Hope the weather improves so that you can get outside and walk. I hope to go tomorrow morning...a change from my usual time. Hugs!

I wish that I was a reader like you. I've been trying to get through a book for over a year now, I'm ashamed to say. :) Homemade pizza sure sounds good.

I’m going to have one of these kinds of days tomorrow. Glad that you didn’t go out in the slushy mess. Those Sunday School children are surely blessed with the delicious homemade cookies you make for them. I inow that it blesses you to be able to domit for them as well.

That Gamache book was a page turner for sure. I'm glad your library has them available for you. It's been snowing here all day and has finally stopped. We stayed in and listened to a couple of sermons.
Hope you have a great evening and Wednesday.
