Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home Safe

It rained during the night and though it was wet when I walked
nothing fell from the sky.
It was 64 degrees and cloudy.
Had my usual walk all around town.
Down by the pond a few people were fishing and this family of
geese were having a nice morning lap around the pond.
Walked around the cemeteries and the ball park loop.
Walking through town I got to walk on some of the new sidewalk that was
put in.  Still working on it down the other end of town.
Didn't see anyone else walking.

When I got home I noticed that the first day lilies are starting to bloom.
Walked 6 miles

All day there were periods of rain, pretty heavy at times,
but between the rain we had periods of dry weather too.
The sun tried hard to come out but never quite made it.

Ken called mid morning to say he was on the way home but was going to be delayed.
A huge oak tree fell in the road and there was a long line of cars
waiting for a crew to come and cut the tree out of the way.
Luckily no one got hurt and they were in the front of the line.
He arrived home safe and sound a little after 3:00.

I got some more things done around the house
and finished up the last couple of rows of the knitted blue baby blanket.
Will start another one tonight.  This time back to weave-it squares.
I can make a weave-it blanket in a lot less time than knitting one.
Went out once to get some more weeding done, but was only
out there for about 10 minutes before the rain came.

Nice to have Ken back home to share ice cream with.
I'll be having cookies and cream.

Glad that Ken made it home safely and that the tree didn't fall on anyone's car.
