Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Boat Ride

A chilly 40 degrees this morning but it was sunny.
My usual walk through town and down toward HT and back to town.
Around the cemeteries and the ball park.

The geese must have gotten used to the water fountain in the pond because
there are four geese families over there now.
Three of them sitting here on the bank
and one family took to the water.
50 degrees by the time I got home.
Walked 6 miles

We met the Super Seniors from church this morning at 10:00
at Bill's Marina on Deep Creek Lake and went on a
2 hour boat ride around part of the lake.
(Not enough time to do the whole lake)
These two ducks were there to great us.
Here the nine of us are on the boat.
I'm in the bright green sweatshirt.
It was a little cool but the sun was out and we had a great time.

There are some huge houses along the lake, most are vacation homes
and we wonder what their other homes must be like.
Here's a few pictures I took along the ride.

After the ride we all went to Brenda's for lunch which is just a half
mile down the road from the marina.
There were 8 other Super Seniors who decided not to go on the boat
ride and just met us for lunch.

After leaving there Ken and I went to Lowes to pick up some paint
and will get the rest of the basement painted tomorrow.

It was a fun day and so glad the weather was so nice.

Hope you smiled often and enjoyed your day.

What a fun day! Always good to get out with friends to do something different. Those lakeside homes are impressive. Yes, what do THEY do for a living? (That’s what I always ask myself.)

Looks like fun.If those houses are vacation homes, then I would like to see their everyday homes. These look like mansions to me.

Loved the boat ride photos.

I have looked at the photo of the two ducks very carefully. These same two ducks were in our front garden last week. I am sure of it. The mallard was following the female.

God bless.
