Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Spaghetti dinner

45 degrees and sunny when I left the house for my walk.
Left a bit earlier so thought I'd walk the Farm Loop again.
Made it down the hill from the school early enough that I
didn't encounter any school buses.

Such a beautiful morning and I do enjoy the quietness
around FL.

A couple I see walking once in a while were walking part of the FL.

Back in town I walked around the ball park and one of the cemeteries
and once through town before getting back home.
Saw lots of birds again, the llama, chickens, and cows.

Apple tree just past the library.
Walked 6  miles

Wanted to go with Ken up to the new house but really had
to stay home and get some much needed cleaning done.
It was one of those whirlwind cleaning mornings and I got lots done.

After lunch I was out front continuing where I left off the
weeding yesterday when the rain chased me inside.
I weeded for a couple of hours.
A couple more hours work and I should have that part of the front garden done.

Having a spaghetti dinner at church this evening.
Last month I mentioned that it was Tract Month at my church.
We are divided into two teams and have a contest which team hands
out the most.
The losing team cooks and serves the winning team a spaghetti dinner.
We were on the winning team.  😊
Of course there really is NO losing team because every tract
that is handed out may be the one to win a lost soul to the Lord.

Not going up to the new house today but will be there tomorrow.
Can't wait to see what was done today.

A happy day to you, my friends.

 Thought this was interesting.
Note the date.
Walking, when it can be borne for an hour or two without fatigue,
is of all exercises, the best.
It is that which nature intends for us.
There is no other accompanied with such a uniform and regular
action of the muscles and joints;
and from the valvular structure of the veins of the extremities,
it is better fitted than any other to promote the circulation, and
consequently all the functions of the system.
It is also the most agreeable mode of exercise.
Our desire for it, when it has been long withheld,
becomes excessive.

That's a great quote, especially when you see the date!

Congrats on winning that spaghetti dinner! I enjoyed reading that quote at the end of your post, too.

Yes,I would say that both teams are winners and so are those people who received the tracts.Who knows, but that God will use those words now or in the future to draw them to Christ.

Nothing like some fellowship and spaghetti! Also, nothing like a good walk. School is out for us next week and my walk will be much longer. I am so looking forward to it!

Hardly anyone hands out tracts anymore where I live. But I do remember very well when I was much younger and would often see people handing out tracts and many times I did so myself as part of church or Bible camp.

The spaghetti dinner sounds very good and will cap off a very productive day for you.

I walked with a friend tonight and I always have trouble talking...while we're walking fast! lol And we have to talk! It was pleasant, in the 80s!

I guess at least some of the old time docs knew what they were talking about!
