Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Pancake supper

Thanks everyone for all the birthday wishes.
Got up a little earlier today because Ken had to leave for his few days
of fun at 6:00.
So I left on my walk a few minutes after 6:00.
It was 58 degrees out and mostly sunny.
Walked through town, down toward Happy Trails and back to town.
The usual route around the cemeteries and the ball park loop.
No one was fishing at the little town pond and I walked around it.
The clouds took over the blue sky and sun by the time I got home.
Walked 6.2 miles

We had a visitor in the back yard last night.
A bear came through town and decided to stop and have a snack of
bird seed in our yard.  In the process it destroyed one of the feeders and
bent the steel pole to the ground.
Tonight I'll be sure and bring the remaining feeder inside.
Definitely not putting feeders out at the new house.

Did my usual inside chores around the house and was just
about to go outside and do some more weeding when it got dark and
it started raining.
So I got the bathroom downstairs by the guest bedroom cleaned.
It doesn't get much use and that will probably be the last time
I have to clean that one.
Took pictures off the wall in the guest bedroom and now that room is empty.
Just needs a bit of putty and touch up paint where nails were in the wall.

The rain stopped and the sun came out so I went out to get
some of that weeding done.
Only worked about 1/2 hour when it rained again.
Back inside the house I didn't do much of anything for the rest of the day.
Mostly read.

For supper I made chocolate chip pancakes like I usually do
when Ken is gone.  I even put a dollop of whipped cream on my pancake.

The sun is back out again but I'll wait until tomorrow do try
weeding again.

Hope your day was sunny and bright.

Don't you just love a few days home alone with no one to cater to? I envy you with a few days of total freedom.

I like to have 'breakfast supper' when I'm by myself. The pancakes sound yummy. And we had a problem with bears coming by our feeders in NC...they LOVED to tear up the hummingbird feeders to drink the sugar water! Hugs!

...yep, pancakes are just for breakfast!

A bear?! Yikes. Sadly, lots of people here have had to give up their feeders because of bears.

Okay...missed a birthday...going back to see how that happened.

A bear was caught trying to break in a local high school yesterday. He just wanted an education.

Right now, we would welcome rain showers, as it has been hot and dry. I love your pictures.

Hello, I would like to see the bear but not ruining my bird feeders. It is best to bring them inside at night. We have been off and on with the rain and cloudy weather. The pancakes sound yummy. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

Whoa! That's a visitor I wouldn't want to meet face to face. Good idea not to put things out to invite them in. :)

Any gal that walks 6 miles a day can afford the luxury of chocolate chip pancakes and whipped cream . . . yum. I'm trying to get Steve to walk with me, so we have been going out on his days off. He'll soon be retired so I'm priming him up for morning walks. I just hate going without a partner :)
Have a lovely day.
Connie :)

I'm just the opposite. I prefer walking alone. : )
