Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another year older

These lilacs are on one of the 4 bushes that I have.
For the past 4 years they have only had a few blossoms on each bush,
this year they are covered in blooms.
I can smell them all over the yard.
I took some cuttings and put them in a mason jar and now the
house smells wonderful as soon as you step inside.
🎈     🎂     🎈
60 degrees and sunny for my morning walk.
It was a beautiful morning for walking and I walked my usual route
through town and down toward Happy Trails and all over town.
Both cemeteries and the ball park loop too.

Still one way traffic through part of town as the sidewalks get
replaced.  Some of the sidewalk they are ripping up look perfectly
fine to me and wonder why they are putting new ones in.

Saw someone walking I haven't seen before.
No one else out walking.

Spotted this bird but don't know what kind it is.
Picture not so great because I had to zoom in.
Walked my usual 6 miles

Today is my birthday and I am thankful that the good Lord has
once again gotten me through another year.
I am so blessed to be 67 years old with good health.

Not doing anything special, it really is just another day
and every day I try to make the most of it and enjoy it.

After breakfast we went out and did a few errands.
Walmart
Tractor Supply Store
Green Acres
Shop and Save

It was still late morning when we got home so before lunch I mowed the lawn again
while Ken started getting ready for the men's getaway.
Every year some of the men from church go in the woods for 3 days
to ride ATV's, fish and just have a good time.
Usually 15 or so of them go but this year there will only be 8.
They always go to the same place in WV a few hours away.

After lunch I baked some more Snickerdoodles.
This time for Ken to take with him tomorrow.

The daisy garden out front needed weeding again so I decided
to do that.  The weeds that grow among the daisies I call sticker
weeds.  Don't know what they are but they sure like growing in my yard.

Soon it will be time for supper and then off to
Wednesday night church service.

Hope your day was a good one and you smiled often.

Happy Birthday. The lilacs must be celebrating. I love flowers that have a good scent (apart from paperwhite narcissi which remind me of air freshener in public toilets!)

Happy birthday. I think the scent of lilacs in a home is heavenly, how nice your lilacs are in full bloom. That getaway for the men of your church sounds like great fun and bonding for them.

Happy Birthday, Happy-K. I hope that it was a good one. I was going to tell you that I think the bird is a bobolink, but someone beat me too it. I love the lilacs. Wishing you the best for the year ahead. I am right behind you. I will hit that same age mid-July.

I missed your birthday. A very happy belated birthday to you! My lilac took about 4 years to finally put out a nice batch of blooms, too.
