Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A work day

62 degrees this morning at 6:30 when I left on my walk and it was sunny.
Walked on the streets behind my house to start and then over
to the post office to mail off a Netflix.
Then walked through town and up Barn Sale Rd.
The black dog that ran out in the road after me the other day
was out again, but this time he was tied up.

Walked around the cemeteries and around town.
One way road though town this morning with a flag man as work
on the sidewalks continue to get replaced.

One of the houses on the main road is going to be knocked down
and they started by taking off the vinyl siding.
This is the back view.
I wonder what will be done with the lot.
 Walked 6 miles

🌸     🌸     🌸
We had a fun time at the BBQ yesterday.
Great weather, yummy food, good friends, and laughter.
Here's Ken having a race with Gracie.
Before the BBQ started there was a word of prayer and we all
stood and sang the national anthem.
🌸     🌸     🌸
Ken took more loads in the pickup of the taken apart train layout.
This time I helped him and it is what we did all day.
Here is what the new house basement looks like with all the
train stuff piled in.
We also emptied and took these white cabinets out of the old house
garage and put them in the new basement.
Some big pieces of the layout that Ken salvaged sit here in the back of
the pickup ready to be taken to the new house.
After a day of work we decided to get pizza from Ledo's for supper.

Nice now to relax after having a very productive work day.
Looking forward to my ice cream.
Tonight's flavor will be cookies and cream.

A happy day to you.

Oh the work involved in a move! It's so good that you are able to start already and get things moved slowly.

Guess that I had not realized just how big a job it would be to move the train layout. Fun to see Ken racing. Always something interesting going on in your corner.

The train set looks nice. And I'd love a go on the go-karts.

God bless.

Oh so that's a motor-less go kart

I think Ken will probably enjoy the long project of reassembling his train layout, and making any changes he's been wanting to do. It will be fun to see what it looks like when he's done!

My late husband also had a train garden. It took up our whole diningroom, Lol. We hated to dismantle it, he put so much work & love into creating it, but we had to move and had no room for it in an apartment. It's wonderful that you can reassemble it in your new basement! I'm starting a new walking program, but indoor walking. Hoping to get back in shape and hopefully lose more weight. God bless you both!

He will just use pieces of the old layout to make a brand new one and yes it will be fun for him. A good winter hobby.

At the new house Ken will be able to use the whole basement for his new layout. He will use pieces from the old one but create a very different one.

Good luck with your walking program.

A full workday and some fun times, too. Love the shot of Ken and Gracie!
Sounds like a great Memorial Day celebration. I like the prayer followed by the National Anthem before your BBQ. You are getting closer and closer to occupying your new home. I'm way behind in visiting but am determined to catch up soon!
