Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Front Path

🌻     🌻
The weather this morning was delightful for walking.
58 degrees, sunny, with a bit of a wind.

Walked up and down through town, around the ball park loop, both
cemeteries and back through town again.

No-Skid gravel is put down on the snowy roads during the winter and gets
thrown up on the sidewalks.
As you can see over time quite a lot of it accumulates there.
Up ahead you can see that the cleanup has begun.  All of it will
eventually will be taken up.
More daffodils are starting to be seen around town
though the ones in my yard haven't bloomed yet.
Came across a few bunnies this morning and here's one of them.
Was surprised that no one else was out walking or running and no
fishermen either on such a pretty morning.
Walked 6 miles
🌻     🌻
Ken hooked up the dump trailer to the truck and we went and got two loads of
gravel to put on the front path that Ken is making up at the new house.
Went to a different place than we usually do because we wanted
red gravel this time and they don't have it there.
Ken dumped the load a little at a time in the tractor bucket and put it
on the path and I had the job of raking it out.
Still a bit more work until the path actually gets to the
house but we are really pleased with it so far.
Here you can see the wall Ken has built and the path leading up to the
front of the house.
Here's a little closer look at the path.
This place here will have a bridge across a water feature that Ken has planned.
While we were there the flooring people came and picked up all the
bad flooring and gave us the refund check for the full amount.
The man was very nice about it and there were no hard feelings.
Mistakes happen and it is nice when it is made right.

After a hard day of work I have a couple of blisters
but feel good of what we accomplished.

It was a beautiful sunny day all day and the temperature
reach the high 70's.

Beautiful pictures!

I am loving the new house and I looove your good, peaceful attitude to "mistake happen." That was a breath of fresh air. Glad they are making it right.

Can't wait to see the photos when it's all done, especially the bridge over water!

That sounds like ideal walking weather.
I am excited to see what Ken has in store for a water feature. No amount of work seems to be too much for you two.
So nice that your flooring problems were solved with no hard feelings.

Love the rock wall. Will you be planting little rock plants into the crevices and ferns?

HappyK said...

I am going to plant hens and chicks in there.
Thanks for stopping by. : )
